8gb RAM with Core i7

no offence taken. :)

The Acer laptop went back as it had faulty ram and the shop didn't have a replacement/similar spec laptop. :( The search goes on.

Yes the external charger/psu (power supply unit). Dell have started replacing them for free for those who complain their 90w psu is overheating.

Have a search for 4Gbyte DDR3 Sodimm's and you will find the reason, they are very much more expensive than the 2Gbyte version. I guess the situation will improve, but not until MS decides we need a minimum of 8 gig!
 
Ah I'll wait at the door scratching like a dog until 8gb gets cheaper...

seems like there's always at least one issue :P I don't think we'll ever win using Laptops as PC replacements when you have to compact so much and keep it cool.

Screen has gone as in the connection at the back has come out (I think)... so I need to get a screwdriver set (a decent one that I can actually get into it with)

Its just slow lately as well so I feel like updating
