8MB Cache or 16MB Cache

Hi Guys
i am looking in to buying a new hard drive should i be looking at 8MB Cache or 16MB Cache . or would it not matter that much ?

Id doesnt really matter a great deal. Small write operations have the most benefit but in real world the difference is tiny. If the 16MB is within a couple of quid then you might as well. If its like a tenners diffference I really wouldnt bother

I would agree.

My last 5 drives have all been 16Mb cache ones.

Hitachi Deskstar T7K250 NCQ 250GB SATA-II 8MB Cache
Western Digital Caviar SE16 250GB 2500KS SATA-II 16MB Cache

No Seagate 250GB 16MB cache?

I have to agree with the above posters. There is only a few £ in it so get either/any.

The WD doesn't have NCQ though, that's the only real difference between all 3 - then again, if it's a storage drive then it doesn't matter anyway as no multi-accessing is likely to be going on.
