>>970 Vram Returns<<

February is over so the deadline to send 970s back for the gimped vram is over.

Would be interesting to know the final figure of returns. Think the last time I saw in the first week there were about 200 returns.

I sent my G1 back last week. Returns process was easy and money sent back into my bank the next day after ocuk received it.

Hats off ocuk for the option to return the 970s . you've earned great rep from it.

It's funny because yesterday I made up my mind to do this with my 970, but I couldn't find the message with the instructions, then I had to go out and forgot about it again until today

The RMA states you have 28 days to return a GTX 970, that could mean going beyond the end of February deadline depending on when the RMA was initially raised.

True. So there could still be more coming in. Suppose they could go off the number Of RMA they have had through to get a rough figure.

If you explain this I think they will still let you return it. Ask in CS. No harm in asking.

I was wondering that, but i paid for saturday delivery i think to send it back.. D'oh.

Oh well, i am now waiting for AMD to release their 390 cards.

Yes, it can't hurt to ask. I've dithered a bit because the performance has actually been ok so far, but I bought the 970 following a new monitor for 1440 gaming and so am concerned as to whether it will need replacing sooner than it should due to the memory "issue" when new games come out.

Are they gonna be resold as b grade stock? Need another for SLI haha

would have thought you would be better off with a 290x at that res.

Yes props to ocuk for giving us the option though. If you're happy with them then long may that continue.

I raised one because as well as the vram issue mine also started to crash everyday with some kind of black screen issue/ googling the error seems to be a cuda or java error

We had a very busy time with cards coming back but we on the phones are very happy that february is over :D

I've got two 970s that I should be sending back today or tomorrow (sorry Havark!).

For anyone who hasn't sent theirs back yet, I've had an email from OCUK saying they may not process returns after 9th March so better get a wiggle on.

I've switched to crossfire 290X's 8GB from OCUK. I'm using them in 4K and I can't believe the difference.

I had 970SLI at 2K stuttering at 40-45fps. One 290X, yes one of them, a solid 60fps at 2K, an amazing difference (4K is slower but still playable)!

I'd like to thank OCUK for giving us the opportunity for returning the cards. I'm a much happier bunny with these new AMD cards!

It's also a smart move business wise in the long term for OCUK, many other places were offering 20% refunds on the cards which doesn't stop the stuttering problem for people and doesn't give them enough back to get new cards, it's a gesture but it's not a solution.

Well done OCUK. :)
