A Battlefield 2142 thread

the titan mode is the b6est, ive been racking up tons of points defending my titan, i seem to be the only one who does though, just a shame that you cant get any unlocks in the demo, the sentry drone would be nice for backup.

Geesh will you people actually play some real games and stop giving low rate mods such a high status!

Shocking how anybody can say this game rocks , no wonder EA make so much money :(

Nothing wrong with someone liking a game that you don't. Are you some kind of game Nazi :p

You don't even know what other games he plays, or whether he has even played a Battlefield game before. Call it a 'mod' if you want, but this is a game and people do enjoy it.

Update from EA on the Disconnects issue:
"The issue was related to the account activity checks that the master servers send to players while they are logged in. These checks exist so the server can know when your account has lost connection so that it may de-activate the account so you can log in again. The thought is that a player will not send responses to a query if their connection goes out so we need to close the account so you can log back in.

Anyways because so many people jumped into the demo the EA.com account servers were not able to cope with the stress. Now that the EA techs have added more servers and made a account server patch upgrade the issues should be eliminated. Please let us know if you continue to experience any additional problems."

Of course, there's other problems, I've only been affected once in a lot of play on the demo. Server crashes are still a small issue, but haven't affected my time on the game much.

FYI 'Gaming Judge Neil' - I play lots of games, and that includes having played previous Battlefield installments. I'd love to hear your definition of a 'real' game.

not paying for a mod

Whats more the idiots at EA havent even put dx9 file in the demo my buddy locutus12 had to show me how to put the file in windows. betafield 2142 is nearly opon us and i've cancealed my copy

*sigh*.... They didn't put the new DX dll in to reduce DL size, numbnuts, there's plenty of warning on all download mirrors......Also, are you allowed to use that word, even to describe EA?
 
weeee, this game is quite awesome infact, maybe it's because i havent played bf2 in a while, but some of the combt just feels more like warfare

for example the apc's and walkers are just such fresh additions to the combat style

i will admit that the infantry combat is lacking but i hope that's just due to map layout

i dont know why everyone is complaining about bugs, so far i have found one which is where the animation in my walker was on a loop, to stop just jum out then jump back in then start shooting again

all in all, very nice so far
 
so I downloaded the demo 'n all and had a go. The vehicles are a great laugh and pretty good fun but as soon as I'm on foot the combat just isnt fun. I am pretty bad at it I have to admit but seriously how much to guns have to wobble around?! Its practically impossible to take someones head off at any distance with a sniper rifle (recon I think its called in the game). Also the assault kit doesnt seem to do any damage, you try and fire accurate shots at people and if they are around over 10m away it takes a ton of shots. So anyway I'm not very impressed.
