sorry but I am at work so it will not be till the everning and that if I get a chance (I got 3 kids to sort out so you see the problem).

I need to practise more with the helicopter was getting better got in some low level flying stuff but then I got to be able to shot stuff 2 AGHHH oh and I surpose i better learn how to land the @~~*^&$% thing


Can anybody recommend a good joystick for the planes please

Hear hear to that. I play on 50K whenever there is space available (in-game name is Cool-as-a-Cucumber). It's an excellent server and the great teamwork makes for the best BF2 experience :)

One thing i will say though is if you join a Clan server then be aware that the clan whores feel its there right to have ALL the vehicles. Bare this in mind and don't take there medals and they stay happy. Use the Chopper or Tank get a Medal and expect to be kicked. To make way for clan of course (Yer Righto).

cheers m8, seen mention of non ranking servers being useful so might have a looksee there.

no worries about me trying for a heli, only got into 1 offline twice, first time i reversed into a stack tower, 2nd time i nearly shot up all me own team trying to steer the thing, then managed to hold it steady enough to blag a tank on the ground, me well pleased :D , ruddy difficult to control so i'll trust me feet for some time yet online :)

You can practice heli flying in the single player mode, dragon valley is a good one to learn on.
 
My resolution keeps changing in BF2, I have the following in my target;- "C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1280 +szy 1024

My game is still running @ 1024x768, it did work with the above in my target a few weeks ago, but now its just not working! :( Is there anything else I should have done?
 
I think i'm going to have to give up on online BF2 until I sort out my connection issues *cries* Shame because I chuffin love this game but since my fresh instal I just get random lags which puts my ping into the high hundreds or low thousands for 15 seconds at a time or more :(

Have you got a friend with broadband that you could take your PC to there house and try it there??? - yes it probably your connection but at least it would prove the point and maybe bring there PC to your House

DO you have a router or just a modem???

do you play other online games???

you got any sort of download programs running

One thing to check is to see if you have any spyware or virus working your computer over. I only run BF2 without any anti-virus. Otherwise it's turned on, up to date and accompanied by spyware removal tools.

Sometimes when you reinstall the os you may have a lot of temporary files left lying about. (CAB files and stuff). Get rid of these and it will help.

Another thing that can give intermittent lag is programs that have auto update enabled & may log in at any time to check & this includes dozens on most computers, turn off as many as you can find starting with windows & your antivirus, windows error reporting is a prime suspect, also right click 'my computer' & select 'manage ' then select 'services & apps,' then 'services '

here you can see everything that is running & whether it starts auto or manual or is disabled, single left click to see what each one does, double click to see more & make changes, here you may find programmes set to autocheck for updates, google anything you are not sure about before you disable it, make a note of what you alter so you can enable it if something doesn't run & its a good idea to create a system restore point as well ,its not like fiddling with the registry so you can't do any serious damage

Just got this game today, and its amazing, im totally new to on-line gaming as this is my first one, my mate got me into it as he has been playing it for a couple of months, runs sweet here everything maxed in 1280x960 with 2xAA, graphics are the best ive seen, the detail is incredible. :D

thanks mate will do, ill not be very good as ive only played for about an hr, and that was just me and my mate on a server by ourselves so he could show me around, and what to do and stuff etc... :)
