A battlefield2 thread

I think you have the 'same version only' box ticked and most servers just changed to the latest patch if you have not done the same thing your end you will see very few old version servers
 
I've got the same problem & just realised i renamed BF2.exe to BF.exe so i could use driver settings on my gfx card. Its an old version exe by the looks of it too as it says most servers are running a newer version than me.

Could somebody please upload the BF2.exe who's updated their game to the latest version? As patching it doesnt create a new one and it takes ages to reinstall/repatch everything again.
 
Has anyone got any tips for controlling the TV guided missile? I've been practising with it for ages and every time I try to turn it I always seem to overshoot the mark and miss by quite a way :(

Try and keep the crosshair on the target and just click as fast your little finger can click, it allows you to intupt steering controls more accuratley i find.

If the target is stationary, put the crosshair over the target and click ONCE. Assuming the target is either directly in front of you or far enough away that the missile has time to turn, you'll hit it.

If the target is moving, try to click the crosshair at the point where you think the target will be by the time the missile reaches it. Only then re-click if you think it will miss.

That's my method and it seems to work pretty well - I'm sure that frantic clicking may be another sure-fire way but it has never resulted in much other than frustration for me.
 
I got a "cd key is not valid" warning today and couldn't play on any servers. After googling i got the solution which was to reenter the key in registry.

I played fine after patching last night so it wasn't an immediate effect. So this may come back. Anyone else seen it? Fairly annoying although fixable.

Personally I feel EA should have these problems and the solutions nice and clear onn the bf2 website.
 
How come the new Euroforce great wall of china map is appearing in server lists, is it downloadable somewhere ?

ea did a boo boo, they accidentally released it early so lodas of peopel downloaded it. so someones hacked something to get it to work.


and i finally got vet engineer today, 10 repair points in a round is rather hard.
 
euroforces has been released in germany and austria iirc, retail only though. so you might be getting those servers in the list

Thats the one im going for now, need to hit the 15 hours time first though. Dreading when i have to get 10 repair points in a round. Might try to find a server with a really high ticket ratio and no time limit.
 
EA are out to make money, they will release it retail for the younger kids who can not use a credit / debit card ;)

EA just want to make money, so it will come out in a box if its even with a peice of paper with a serial key for the download :rolleyes:
