Armoured Fury is a top notch set of maps/vehicles. Anyone wavering should purchase it now.

For only £6 it represents very good value in my view.

Yes, for £5-6 you can't go wrong. Even if you only play it for 5 hours you've got £1 per hour out of it.

If I go and purchase Armoured Fury via the EA downloader now is it possible to burn the file to a CDR for later re-installations or is it a case of having to re-download it everytime?

^ yep, its possible.

Look in the ea-downloader folder and you'll find the files in there. I did this for EF.

WTF is with pings since the patch?

I'm on 10mb broadband, I'll join a server that displays '0' ping and then when I get in it'll be in like the 300s or higher.

Don't join servers with 0 ping. They don't have the right ports open that allow them to be pinged. Join ones that show their real ping.

Yeah, just searched for 'Battlefield 2 ping' in google and found out that '0' isn't the server ping lol.

Is there a sniper rifle on this game that gives you kills in one shot?

And if you are using one of the rifles that needs two shots, is there anyway to tell if you have hit someone?

Aim for the head...I've got plenty of 1 shot kills with the 2 unlocks. Not sure if they were all already injured though.

Any sniper rifle will kill with a single shot to the head. If you hold the fire button when firing, the crosshair will tell you whether you hit the person or not.

I forgot to pick my unlocks today and came across the auto sniper rifle! What a standard weapon! You can get LOADS of kills with that!

Play Americas army if u want a 1 shot kill sniper rifle, hit anywhere on the torso for a kill, elbows and knees wont kill. In BF2 u need a headshot, and Ive heard people saying that u get bullet drop over distance.

I found the original sniper easier to get a headshot rather than the special forces one, am I missing something?

Nope the L96 has a bigger bullet drop that's all. I still prefer it over any other sniper rifle, guess I'm a bolt action traditionalist.

I think I messed up with AF download, I put in my EA member name instead of my BF2 player name, its installed the maps & I get either CTD when I join the server or a lock up after a minute or two. can play normal BF2 as usual tho
How can I change the name to my player name if thats whats wrong lol

Edit, I fixed it by changing the name in the file, works perfect now

Had a great round last night on AF, Operation Harvest thing with Deko and Siders. Finally got the hang of TV missiles and did a great curler of a shot from about 300m away... unfortunatly I had the red name error so It ended up being a tk

Which one is the more powerful sniper gun? I have had mixed success with both the unlocks, obviously from my AA days the armour piercing one was good but a handful, the L9681 is OK but it could be my aiming.

I played AA a month ago and was suprised how much more accurate it is compared to BF2, i managed to kill a few people on the other side of Insurgent Camp (about 300 metres) with just the standard m16.

I am a big fan of the F2000 assault unlock though, high powered and lower amount of shots to kill.

I find L96 the most accurate since it has the clearest of scopes. I barely used the M95 at all as the scope was way too thick for long range kills.

The L96 sounds cool too

As said, not a big fan of the M95 either, I prefer the M24 over it, but the L96 is my favourite.
