just bought this game, how sodding long does it take to do a full update... think i remember WoW being a hell of a lot quicker than this.
What settings are is that? I used to use max detail on x800@16 pipes 550, now using 4xAA 8xAF IIRC (if not 16xAF), 1280*1024.BloodWolf said:Thanks, weeble.. i'm gonna try that!
I've changed my settings around 3 times (getting best settings for X1900XT)

Sorry just looked again there is an option for texture quality, I have it on high. U could use driver control instead and there is also the option of turning quality settings to 4 if u look in the profile folders in my documents.ichabod crane said:can ya tell me where the setting for AF is in battlefield?? cos i have never seen it? i have AA x4 but cant find AF

I have a wired connection to my wireless router and a wireless to a laptop, the network is ridiculously slow, but downloading from laptop is not effected as far as I have seen. Difference between network transfer is it used to take 5min for 700Mb now it takes 40min at best.DrEvil said:I have the same problem but since a h/w upgrade, only changes:
- new Netgear wireless G PCI card
- 7950GX2
- ASUS bios update
- resolution up'd to 1600x1200 @ High 2x AA
I think its the new wireless card thou - doesnt seem to get as good a signal as my old one.

Have you got 2gig of RAM mate? thats a must.
AS_Platinum said:No its not, i got 1 gig, have it at 1280x1024 med settings apart from terrain texture (at high) and 2x aa and its fine, no choppyness, I admit it does use around 600-700meg ram which is a lot.
Try closing all non vital applications, even end the process explorer.exe
msn messenger is a ram killer too, msn 8 use's around 4-50meg here.
