A battlefield2 thread

Battlefield 2 = AWESOME GAME!!! end of in my opinion, can't fault it, apart from the controlling of aircraft :p does anyone else find that solid to do? planes mostly in my case

Well, I used to be able to play just fine. Since updating punkbuster, the game now freezes after 10-20 minutes. It's really annoying. I've tried dropping my CPU and GPU back down to stock. I've also uninstalled and reinstalled the game but the problem is still there. After reinstalling, it worked fine again until updating PB again.

Try setting the process priority for bf2 1 lower: ctrl-alt-del set it there.

Hello,

I've tried bf2 today first time in a few weeks again and can't seem to join, when I join through xfire I get server disconnected immediatly, and when I join from the in-game list, my game crashes at the end of loading a map, whassup?

Anyone got any ideas on my problem?

Ok so I got a new PC (new to me anyways) off a friend, and set it up yesterday by just uninstalling all my drivers and mobo resources, then sticking my HDD's into the new machine.

All went well and was up and running within an hour.

However I have sound issues now in BF2.

all the effects and music sound fine but any of the voice things such as "Enemy Armour Spotted", "Attack this position" etc all come out wobbly and stretched which is very irritating.

It is the same sound card (Sound Blaster Live 5.1) as I had in my old PC and I have all sound settings set to medium.

Absolutely everything else works except those bits, anyone got any ideas?

Thanks so much! That seems to have cleared it up. I played 6 or 7 maps last night and it didn't freeze once.

Will I have to do that each time I play or will it remember each time bf2.exe is opened?

There is a way to put it into the shortcut, cant remember off the top of my head.
Code:
"use notepad, type the following text:

start /high "C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\vlc.exe"

save the file, call it C:\LaunchVLC.CMD

Make a shortcut to the above file on your desktop, change the icon for the shortcut to the vlc icon.

When you double-click the shortcut, you'll have VLC running in HIGH priority."

Obviously if lowering the process priority works for you then use that word instead.
