A battlefield2 thread

Some great games, its nice recognising loads of names from here, some great skilled players u lot are :eek:
anyway sorry numerous players for my bombing runs tonight..including Andy-T who i bombed on our own runway :(, i swear your truck had a big target with no friendly line though it.
 
SOrry for TKs and stuff... haven't quite got the hang of it... I'm Nobgoblin so feel free to swear at me.
 
To those on the TS server tonight, sorry that i was on but didn't actually say anything, i don't have a proper mic (well i do actually) i was using a Shure SM57 mic for recording instruments set at a jaunty angle with my mic stand and wasn't sure if i'd set up TS right so didn't want to start jabbering if the volume was too loud and it was annoying everyone :D I've just had a play with it now and should be speaking freeely next time :p

lol I thought you played quite well, however I was embarasingly bad when we squaded up:

advance..me get shot..you heal me...
advance..me get shot..you heal me

:(

and T gets mad at everyone I wouldnt take it to heart :D
 
I think there is something up with my graphics, I have it set to 1600x1200, 6x AA and it still looks jaggy and crap.
Anyone else had this problem? Its like playing it in 1024x768 but when i press menu on my screen it confirms the rez is 1600x1200.

Edit:
My system is very good, ATI XT850, 2gig ram, A64 3500 blah blah.

Set your ati display driver AA settings to "Application Preference" or "let the application decide"

has anyone got AA/AF either in or out of game working with atis 5.6 drivers, i had it working with 5.1 but that gave me freezes every now and then.

Had the exact same issue with audio from my Realtek AC'97. I found switching to 2 channel (as opposed to 6 channel) in the audio app fixed it, but I wanted 5.1. So I leeched the drivers for my onboard card from the Abit site (was using the VIA drivers), and this cleared the issue completely. Not sure if you have an Abit board, but thought this may help.

1024mb Geil ram on a A64 3200+@ 2.7ghz, 9800pro...settings are all medium or high appart from shadows and lighting which are both set to low, AA and AF are also off. should be fine i dont really get it...:/

What settings in game ? If it's a 128mb 9800Pro, you might be running out of video memory if textures are set to high.... ? Try textures / geometry and terrain on medium ( if they aren't already )

Play a round, the quit and check taskmanager to see what your peak memory usage is. Do you have any apps running in the background ?

I haven't read the whole thread, so this may have already been asked, but how do you take screenshots? Printscreen? In the above pic what exactly does each column represent from left to right, i.e. Score, Command Points, Kills, Deaths?

I played on the DW server for a couple of hours earlier on -- really it enjoyed it :D At one point I somehow managed to reverse the APC I was driving into one of the swimming pools while avoiding an enemy tank. :o

Is it possible to log the amount of physical memory being used while BF2 is being run? Can't be bothered to keep alt-tabbing to Task Manager. Ta :D

no worries ;) Seemed to get tk'd a few times last night when i was running for our planes. Getting better and able to fly them for a while now. Just need to sort out the missiles, not entirely sure how to target them and those bombs are just amazing :)

Still cant wait for the full game.
 
Those bombs are scary... and I love the little blur/ringing in the ears effects that let me know I'm about do die. I don't know what went wrong in the 2nd round after I did really well. TKs all over the place, unable to kill anyone, unable to fly that stupid 'copter or stupid planes, or unable to get off that stupid carrier.

But **** that game rocks! :D
 
Dont know it this has already been mentioned (53 pages to many to read thru) but friendlys showing as red...............real pain in the butt man. Also is the demo a true indication of the proper game specs i.e demo works/runs smooth so full version will ?
