To be honest mate if your system still runs PC133 there isn't really any hope of ever being able to play BF2 properly :(

strange the demo works fine in everything medium, 2xaa

2400xp@2100
1gig pc133
9800pro 378/337.5

so would another 512 help?

ps mate just tried it on 3000xp,512mb, fx5600. not a chance is it playable

I think Fox may of thought you were on about SD-ram
But you've got DDR ram so your ram is running at 266mhz DDR or just pc2100

Ive got a prob with my Demo, hopefully it wont be with the retail but ill share it with you just in case it might.

I can play for about 10 minutes before my game will freeze on the spot, and i wont be able to do anything, everything is running in the background as ive had TS on and it was working perfectly fine, but for some reason the game just froze. Meaning i had to restart the comp. Any ideas on why it would do that, i mean it happens every single time after about 10 minutes, but single player games are totally fine tho.

Ive got a 3500+ Winnie
X850XT-PE using 5.6 Catalyst
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 using the latest drivers
1Gb DDR400
Raptor Drive

I get it it's not a crash its a pause and the game will come back to life after a minuet or two, just leave it and dont press any buttons.

Nope doesnt work, left it for i think 15 minutes (cooking a pizza) came back to it, exactly the same, nothing changed.

mine also locks up, only on the 32 player map and after 10mins it's still locked up. i also got graphical glitches which freezes the game up for a few seconds but it seems to have gone since i played with the ati catalyst settings.

i ticked 'let application decide' for aa and as, then set the ingame refresh rate to the same as i was using at the desktop.

Hmm, im having a few problems as well, specs:

A64 3500+ @ 2.4ghz
2Gb Corsair
x800 XT PE with 5.6 cats

Play game for 10 mins or so and the game just freezes. Not to a black or blue screen but just freezes. Thought it was overheating due to the weather but my bios reads 46c at peak times. Any ideas?

Hmm it seems the guys who are having probs all have ATI cards

Iv been playing today for 90 mins straight and all was fine so could be a ATI driver prob?

It seems your having the same problem.

My peaks are about 68c, but it definitly isnt a heat problem i know that for sure, as it runs at that for quite a bit and sometimes goes higher. So i know it isnt overheating problems.

I tried the 5.5 cats, that didnt do anything different, i tried different settings, changed stuff on my net. stuff like that.

Have you tried the single player, and do you get constant "read error from server" stuff and do you get disconnected frequently, do you run a wireless net connections?

Im running a wireless net connection but i doubt that has anything to do with it. All my other online games run fine. im going to leave single player running for a bit to eliminate heat, ive updated punkbuster to the latest version. I dont get any error messages at all, just a freeze that requires a hard reboot. No black/blue screens or error messages. Im not sure what to do?

BF2 was installed on a fresh format as well today to eliminate any other crap lying about :(

no its defo pc133 memory running. got it about 3 years ago. 2 for £70 off fleabay.
its in an MSI t-turbo2 board. has/is serving me well. i dont have any problems with BF2.

eek my graphics card and processor are showing their age. 1.75gig athlon thunderbird and 9700 no pro.

Have to stick all settings on low as any higher and when I play 64 player maps it's lag city.

Does anybody know how to make it 32 players in single player mode? 16 just isn't enough. Would be nice to have room for more aircraft.

Cheers!
