A battlefield2 thread

Right an update on my situation:

Ive just been playing single player non stop for the last hour and 15 minutes and it was perfect. Everything cranked up to high and everything super smooth. A joy to play. This must get rid of overheating and my graphics drivers as a problem. As soon as i go online to play, it will just freeze and require a hard reboot. i swear its something to do with punkbuster but ive updated it to its current version so im not sure what to do? :(

Mines smooth on 1 player, as soon as it's multiplayer it's mad jerking city... never had the problem on the demo with the same settings..

maybe its the servers?

sounds odd, but try playing the demo on the severs your getting lag on... if you still get lag... then problem solved, its not your issue ;)

if not... then... no idea :o
 
having major problems with sli,with this game it locks up on single player and it will not let me on any resolution on meduim and high and it plays on low setting but at default.here is my spec
3700+SD
2 gig of ram
2x6600Gt
akasa 460watt psu
all my other games play very well :)
except this one,the demo only played on low settings but you think they would have tested it on sli :mad:

50klicks was excellent tonight, the ranking thing is excellent, ive got a long way to go though till i get enough experience to go up one rank.
 
My spec:

A64 3500 Newcastle
2GB OCZ DDRR RAM
ASUS X800XT PE
Etc.

Slight slowdown, but hey it is all down to your internet connection I'm sure. Try playing single player and see what fps you get. I only ever join a server with <100 ping and I have a 1.5mb broadband connection, which seems adequate but might need to upgrade my connection just for this game!

Is it best to chose the lower of the two internet speed settings in the options?

I'm used to using so called LAN settings for online CS and Q3 but I'm guessing it might be a bit much even for 2MB in BF2.
 
Maybe, not tried it, but there is definately issues with net code, u need uber connections for best results I reckon. When was the last game that recommended min 128k for connection speed?
 
This game needs a patch and some better servers.

I had the demo, and I could run it perfectly on an A64 3000+, 1Gb RAM and a 128MB 9800 Pro with nearly everything on High at 1152x864. Online even with 64 players was pretty damn seamless.

But with the full game, it's a whole different story. All the annoying bugs from the demo are still there, along with some more.

For starters, I have to restart my PC after playing San Andreas if I want to play BF2 because if I don't and I start BF2 the screen is just black. The "incorrect password" thing is still there. After logging in, which takes ages, I keep being told the server is full (?), there are random "problems with my connection" in the middle of games, even if my ping is good, and most of the time these lead to me being booted back to the server menu. And don't even start me on the server menu.

Hopefully once more official EU servers go up over the next few days things will improve, but this seems like yet another shabby EA release.

MAte i think the problem were getting is either a server side problem or something with the game, as ive done all i can to eliminate problems, and its none of my hardware which is effecting it, and youve done a format and installed it, ive defraged my hard drive 3 times.

So i think its a software problem or a server side problem, its sending something or receiving something that it shouldnt and just messes with the whole game. Hopefully the retail will be fine, ill be getting it in about ooo, 9 hours :D
 
A guy I know is having a similar problem. I've been lucky in that even though I keep getting disconnected, at least it only throws me back to the server menu.

I did read on another forum that if you have a nforce 4 mobo (which I have), if you update to the latest 6.53 drivers it can solve the problem. Il be trying that today.
 
Sorry for the stupid Question but how do you get the extra weapons and things in sinlge player?

Its just im moving house this weekend so no ADSL for a week, Will give me something to play around with :p
