A battlefield2 thread

I agree - I can't wait for the patch so I can get ASE up and running. Gamespy used to be fine back in the Quake days (q-spy) some 7-8 years ago. Now it just lags and is so damn slow

Can I use gamespy or anything like that to filter servers because this in-game filter in yuki, and does my head in, it lags, and I hear it crashes most people. I dont crash but I still hate it.

I installed gamespy off the battlefield 2 cd, and I cant see battlefield 2 on the left hand side when I login, it shows all my other games but not battlefield 2?

Cheers in advance,

You cant use any external program like gamespy or ASE at the moment to play BF2, but EA are working on it and will be releasing a patch soon to allow you to do this, but ive been told that the patch will also sort out the slow ingame browser.

Anyone know is the autobalance not working? , has it got to be fixed in a patch. I keep going on servers that say autobalance 1 , yet they don't balance it. Was on a server that had it on , and the teams were 14vs 22-23 , yet it never done a damn thing.

I shall be praying thanks to God tomorrow in church.

I found the instructions booklet a bit unhelpful. I recently downlaoded (and paid) for the 'prima guide' - my first guide. I found that also unhelpful - no amazing insights or tactics.

Run in circles and bunny hop :D

Im loving the M24 right now, im getting used to the inaccuracies and drop of the bullet and the lag time bullet also. Its more accurate the longer you stay sighted in on a specific point it seems...

Otherwise im just deluding myself and there is another way to be more accurate? Any advice guys?

keep practicing with the sniper, allow for distance, movement, and lag

you'll crack it in the end

im now using the Barrett Sniper rifle :D

So i am getting it right with that the sniper rifles do get less accurate at distance because i have noticed when firing at the ground at distance my bullets are off the crosshairs. And that i should be allowing for the bullet to drop at range right?

And of course lag and movement are the usual.

in short yes... i think its great the way they've tried to capture each individual guns accuracy, the sniper rifles are deadly but you need to compensate for certain things. a lot of the automatic rifles scatter around the target too, which is annoying but nice :)

Thought I wasn't going to enjoy BF2 after first playing it - especially after not being able to play the demp to start with. However on 50clicks server and F&Ts - starting to feel quite at home with tags I recognise (and some OcUK peeps too).

Hi,
When playing BF2 on a online server, wgen the match has finished/been won BF2 closes down and returns back to windows. So then have to start game up again. Is this a comon problem, and if so is there a way round it??
Thanks for any help in advance
Regards Maxi

All the guns are woefully inacurate, anything over musket range (50 yrds) and the bullets just go anywhere, whether you spray, single shot, 3 round burst.
I've tried the SAW, the M4, the m-16, all dreadfull.
the only rifle in there that is even vaguely acurate is the AK-47 which when i played a couple of rounds as MEC i suddenly was shooting up the rankings with.
Its this which put me off desert combat and BF1942 in the first place.

Trying to play it after joint ops where the guns actually kill people is a nightmare, on that you sight up on someone tap-tap-tap and they are dead, on this, you walk up to someone open up, and mabye, mabye not after 20 or thirty rounds have hit them, they may, may die.

This game looks great (although a real system hog) but I'm finding the gameplay a bit frustrating since It seems to take an age for me to kill anyone:( Also it seems to be just about storming bases at the moment without any real teamplay. I usually try to interact with people by being a medic but it just seems as though people are out for themselves without backing you up/working on teamplay.

Any tips from you elite players please.

make a squad and ppl will join who are looking for teamwork, name your squad some thing like... "teamwork squad"
