Im not far off another unlock, hopefully will get it just in time for this. Ill probably get the AT one providing its not an SMG.

New sniper will be the M82A1A, semi auto. So USMC may finally get some semi-auto action!

Theres a laser designator making an apearence soon - but I dont think that will be an unlock, maybe a squad leader specific item.

Bunnyhoppers are annoying little mammary glands: the idea that you can jump and shoot is beyond dumb. Glad it's going to be stopped.

The APC now being unable to shoot through penetrable objects is a bit far out though. I assume they will do this for all weapons? If not, what has a 5.56, 7.62 and .50 round got that a 30mm cannon has not?

As for the SF upgrade thing. I bough SF but do not play the maps as they are generally too dark. You can get the unlocks, apparantly, if you get somebody who has got SF to play your account for a bit. Obviously, you will not get the maps or be able to play on SF servers though.

The unlocks are indeed different and personally I use the medic G3 rifle on occasions, but normally stick to the alarmingly inaccurate vanilla LMG. It is fun laying down fire and shooting some bunnyhopping tosspot in the mouth...

I love BF2... mostly.

Daym. Now that is a patch worth waiting for!

Anywhere I can get a FULL list of the known changes? I saw on one that they were imporving the L 85 (or SA 80) and I can still use that gun to great effect so its gunna rule after this patch. And good news on the Nade launcher nerfs. Maybe in this version the server browser will now work properly, helluva day to play bf2 :)

EDIT: New AT unlock, well well well, I might just put off unlocking the "venilla" sniper rifle and wait for the patch :)

EDIT2: Found the full list of the known changes:

* Helicopter now carry 8 missiles rather than 14
* TV-Guided missile now have a shorter range
* Hit points on all air vehicles has been reduced
* AA missile lock has been improved
* Support kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
* Sniper kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
* Anti-Tank kits have had their primary weapons adjusted for accuracy
* "Dolphin Diving" is no longer possible
* Players can no longer jump and shoot at the same time
* "Prone Spamming" is now fixed
* "Sprint exploit" is now fixed
* The Sa80 weapon has been improved
* The G3A3 weapon has been improved
* Reload while sprinting has been enabled
* Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials
* Damage decreased for the M134
* Medic defibrillator paddles have been adjusted. They now reload while not in use.
* Server search filters now work properly
* All mines (Claymore, Anti-vehicle, C4) can now be picked up by the same class that dropped it by using the “G” key.
* Mines can no longer be destroyed with other explosives
* Flash bang effect radius decreased
* Added unlocks for Sniper and AT kits
* Fixed a bug in terrain rendering with night vision, whereby terrain was still dark in dark areas.
* Fixed a bug whereby mods that are not bf2 or not xpack permutate shaders every time a level is loaded.
* Fixed a bug whereby non-xpack mods cannot use xpack shaders.
* Fixed bug in TV guided missiles of Havoc helicopter
* Bug in MP7 fire rate fixed. Ammo count increased and mag count and damage decreased
* APC Update – “Chinese and MEC APCs can now shoot through penetrable materials”. This fix was a miscommunication to the patch team. Chinese and MEC APC’s have been reverted and the LAV25 now no longer shoots through penetrable materials.
* Vehicles no longer disappear when viewed from some vehicles with a HUD (e.g. Tanks).
* Performance gain found in static mesh rendering.
* Detonation radius from grenade launcher explosions has been reduced.
* Grenade launcher projectiles now have a minimum time before arming.

seem they've changed their mind on this then, last i heard patch 1.2 was supposed to be released before the first booster pack, and patch 1.3 was supposed to be released prior to the 2nd booster pack release :(

Headshots yes, torso yes, limbs no.

Dumb question but an APC is classed as a transport vehicle? - been driving one around for ages yesterday on Gulf of Oman, and didn't get the basic transport badge. Was MEC and even visited the carrier in it!

I believe so, but you have to be transporting people about to get the points and badge AFAIK.

Oh right - thanks. I thought that was dolphin diving but you have to be running, jump and go prone to be a dolphin diver don't you?
