I've got 540pts.. I want my Lance Corporal unlock... And it wont give it me :(

bf2s says I should get it, even the ingame BFHQ says I should... why cant I have it? :(

play on a ranked server for a game it will come up during game ,you must finnish that match :)
 
Stellios - can you share the IP/name of that server - might finally gt my knife badge on a hour and a half round!

it wasnt an hour an a half more like 50 minutes, its because it was a 64 player map with so few players, a lot of them left.

Bah!...

Played on a ranked server.. got a huge chopper kill, got the promotion message.. got new chevrons.

Match ended, awards etc came up, new map loaded. I disconnected and looked at BFHQ... STILL no unlock!!

What exactly happens?.. does a dialog come up asking me what I want?

Log out/Log back in again, or if that doesn't work you have to wait for the stats to update on the servers
 
WTF. I logged on just now to find that I've been banned from all the 50k servers :mad:

Last night there weren't many players on the servers, so most were whoring tanks/APC's and racking up a load of kills. I quoted some of the lyrics from the APC song as it seemed appropriate considering the circumstances :p So, thats it? I've been banned for that? Quite ridiculous if you ask me...
 
I dont know mate, maybe they done it by mistake, and its usually just a 24/48 hour ban anyways. Stick a post up on 50K and see what they say.

Dont worry the Guy is hated everywhere he goes, if he posts on the World Of Warcraft forums, he gets flamed for beeing an arse etc etc. Hes been in a million arguments all over these forums with his mindless Babble. hes been kicked out of WoW guild, could make new ones coz ppl dont take to him... the list goes on.
Follow my example and just stick him on your ignore list and the Forums become a more pleasant place to be
 
Back on topic though.
Reading this thread a while now, and i Decided to go buy me BF2 :)

Any reccomendations, as in the latest patches etc. I found patch 1.2... but its 357 meg or so, can that be right ?
Any addons you guys can reccomend aswell ?
When i played UT, I could configure the user.ini file, for quick weapon switching etc, are there such tweaks in BF2

Patch 1.2 is right, it includes a whole new map and a lot of fixes so the size soon adds up. (You need this installed to play on ranked servers) Patch 1.21 is being worked on at the moment due to them screwing up more stuff in 1.2.

SF is the only expansion at the moment (available on EA Download and in shops), Euroforces is coming out soon, but that's only on EA Download.

When you start off it's recommended you practise in vehicles either on unranked servers or create a local server on your PC. Also, either using a joystick or inverting the mouse controls makes flying a lot easier.

I'm not sure you can tweak stuff like that in BF2, though apparently some people used macros for throwing C4, but that really isn't recommended.
 
Yes, the 1.2 demo is 350mb and you will need it, so if your 56k then start downloading now or get someone to do it for you ;)

Their isnt really a lot of tips to give when you start, make sure you squad up and play as a team. As far as i know thier are no .ini tweaks or anything, but maybe someone else can back me up on that.

f your after huge points then medic is the class to go for IMO, but if your up against armour then you have no option but to run.

It's true. I put it down to jealousy myself.

Anyway, I'll get in contact with a 50k admin. I don't think "Constantly moaning" was really a fair statement, I only mentioned it once. And I didn't even see that warning from MG before being kicked.
 
Wots getting me real annoyed at the moment it bf2 is tha amount of stupid squad leaders, ill give u one example, was playing on sharqi pen and our team was down to one flag, the alleyway, now *** did all the sl do they ran away up to a ridge so that they could snipe into the flag and i was left alone to go capture a flag. Got myself a flag only for the other one to be lost so away i go looking for another flag with little help. Id like to mention i was a sniper at the time ( trying to get my 15hrs so i can go for the vet combat badge, only one i dont have). Is so annoying when ppl dont play as a team then go complaining that they were owned.
