I'm still finding it seriously difficult to get a repair badge :(

I played Karkand last night and racked up 40+ points in no time following another tank round and playing as a team. Ended the map on best repair with 4 points though :(

simple, unless your going for the expert? i got it repairing the commander assets on Karkand - if the other teams spec-ops are doing their job, just get repairing :)

i got my basic on a blackhawk. basic repair is relativly simple you can get it in about, ooh 5 minutes (not in a blackhawk btw) vet is a litte more complex sit at the entrance to karkand repairing the mec tanks. its best to repair others from a vehicle yourself as you repair quicker, thus earning the repair points quicker.

Little tip...

Found a little tip after nearly 200 hours(!) of playing i thought i would share incase you dont know it...

Not sure how useful this is, but when you bring up the communication rose, you can rightclick on 'spotted' to select the type of unit you have spotted. Its helpful as sometimes you just get 'enemy unknown ?' when you spot something...

But u can just press Q and goto spotted and it brings up a list of vehicle types?

I find that easiest mind you sometimes when u goto spotted it does report what your looking at but not 100% of the time which is a shame really, and sometimes going thru all that menu/options means u die cos u werent concentrating :(

Its good to report though cos then sometimes ill spawn as anti-tank at base ready for the vehicles....

How on earth do you survive as Anti-tank. I haven't mastered it yet at all, I know it takes 2-3 hits to kill one if your lucky but I'm just not getting it.

Any tips would be great :)

hit tanks inbetween the turret and the body and youll have em down in 2 shots sometimes one if they are already damaged. anti-tank being my favourite class :D

also squad up with people and work as a team because really the anti-tank shouldnt be getting into fights its meant for vehicles, even if your with one other person who is assault or even better medic you will work a lot better and find things easier, because he can heal you as you go for a tank or distract the tank etc :)

NEW PROBLEM!

at the end of a round my pc shuts off.........nice!

i have no overclock and it must be a fault as i does not happen suring the game and only when the round finishes. i'm playing on SF servers and they don't have maps running that i don't have installed.

any ideas?

i just installed the latest nvid drivers but they made no change.

Why would you possibly risk taking such a hard shot when 2 shots to the front of back of the tracks has the same effect as is considerably easier?

yeah i pretty much aim for underneigh the tank from the front or back

because i was told that hitten them inbetween the turret and the tank is the best place to hit them? and its not so hard if the tank hasnt spotted you, one night of using the anti-tank gun is enough to get used to it to make that kinda shot.

I nearly always play AT and by far the most consistent, and less 'riskful' approach is to hit the tracks. Hitting a fast moving tank, especially if its moving parralell to you between the turret and the main body is considerably harder than hitting it in the tracks.

Does this even work? Ive seen the hit point charts for the tanks and none of them show this area as doing more damage to tanks whereas the tracks do most damage.

its not hte armour its the bouncing of the projectile. and with AT its easier to shoot the tracks, fire, move, fire again.

Damn u and your armour wh0ring....

Exactly, you cant bounce the projectile unless your almost directly in front or behind the tank. And doesnt that only work with Tank shells and not AT rockets?

It's usually best to hit them from behind or the tracks for armor. You have to be really sneaky generally though to take a tank down or shoot when their not looking. It's just a shame they havent fixed the Rocket/Jeep bug, cant rememeber how many times they droved towards me only for it to go straight through it! Lost quite a few kill chances (and got run over myself) due to it :-\

Also has anybody managed to get 1650x1050 res in Special forces? or know how? It works in BF2 vanilla but when it changes programs it wont work, cant find an exe file for SF either & 1280x1024 stretched is nasty!

Cheers!

A tank is best killed hitting it just below the main gun in between the chassis an the turret, this does 19 damage, and a tank can only take 20.

Hitting on the front of the track as it slopes away from you also does 19 damage.

Just had a great game on 50K, 64 player Karkland as MEC special forces. Spent a bit protecting train accident with C4 then it got captured along with every other flag except Suburb by USMC. So by the end of the match 20 odd members of our team are protecting it till the very end, with me blowing up some tanks :D

Really pwnage server

You forget ot mention the best bit, we were on one flag, BUT WE WON! I took anti tank on that map, their was a bit of an anto tank division going on with 4 of us, no armour stood a chance.
