Another vote for superserver.co.uk

Never ever had a good game on 50k, always end up getting repeatedly spawn killed or repeatedly TK'd.

Not a good server in my opinion, why I play elsewhere. :)

Its all about tactics. They are obviously good layers exploiting other players disadvantages. I would rather spawn at another spot as anti tank and then destry the tank. Pick up another kit if there are infantry around. :D

One thing that bugs me as an admin (not on 50Ks), is that players seem to never try the 'kick vote' function built into BF2.

I'll quite happy kick someone once I can see more than one person complaining about them - but I wish people would use the builtin kick vote first!

I've experienced someone in an APC or Anti-Aircraft tank, spawn camping, bloody annoying.

Voting sucks, in an ideal world, without any idiots it would work, but it never does. "bah, i missed out on being commander to someone of a higher rank, I know I'll initiate a vote" - "Bah he's kill me twice now, I'll vote kick him out" - "bah, I want that Tank, I'll vote kick him"...

The people i moan at about a spawn camping piece of armour is my own teams armour and commander. It is there job to take on the enemy armour and the commanders job to order them to its location and to arti strike. A tank that is able to sit in one location spawn killing is easy meat for experienced players.
The one thing that really annoys me are pilots and armour whores who odviously avoid each other and easy kill troopers. If i am in a tank/chopper/jet and an enemy armour/jet or heli is spotted i make a B line for it to take it on. Those that use Air or Armour and avoid the enemys air/armour are Wimps, these guys should be kicked.

Lastly it is up to the team to work together and it annoys me when they don't. Spawn groundfloor at the hotel and get two jeeps firing at the chopper to scare it off or destroy it giving time for your own chopper to get air. Everybody running and hiding just allows spawn killer to fill his boots.

Yep what you said Malc, the armour shouldnt be used for the 1st couple of flags in karakand but they should high tail it to the bac flags where they can give the team a better tactical advantage.

True, but sometimes it's hard to find a server where the players want to play a good honest non-whoring round.

I saw this pic on the bf2s forums, pretty much sums up 64 player Karkand:

What he said, u basically need to get 40 commander points before the round ends, then if it doubles up that would be 80 points

Anyone have any tips for getting 80 points? Most of the time when I've been a commander my team never ask for supplies / vehicles etc so I just place them in tactical places or where I see someone trying to cap a flag. Which means i don't tend to get many points :/

smaller maps tend to be better for commander points as they last longer & theres a lot more backwards and forwards with the flags (which you get points for).

You don't get points for using your commander assets, you get a fraction of your teams score. Say every point they get you get 1/3 of it or something like that.

Do you job well and you will be rewarded, it also helps to have a good team playing with you.

Scanner - Use as much as you can, use your spotter to show the locations of any snipers or people hidden, or to assist a squad in a fight.

UAVs - Put them where needed, not neccissarily where the action is. A lot of the time i will give the UAV to the few guys that have sneaked across the map and are taking a flag at the other end of the map, which means we have a better chance of capping the lone flag.

Artillery - Use it where you need it, dont use it just because its there.

Vehicle Drops - Speaks for itself really. Dont drop them next to a sniper on your team, it could compromise his position. These are good fun for dropping on people ;)

Supply drops - I mainly use these beside tanks/APCs as they repair what is next to them, but lone snipers occasionally request them. Give priority to those who need the crates, rather than just those who want to restock on the claywhores (whoops, i mean claymores ;) )

Thats what i usually do, and we will win 75% of the matches i play. Obviously if you have a docile squad and all they do is wait for armour and planes/helis then dont expect to win. Generally the faster a squad moves about the better chance of winning you have. Encourage your players to cap a flag and go to another one, and another one etc, dont hang around and wait for fights. Anyone that used to play with Errol will know what im on about.

Thanks for the tips, I'll try them out later on :). I find it hard to use the artilliary most of the time, especially on maps like Karkland (which I've started to play the most) as usually your players are always mixed between enemies, or theres a lon e sniper sat 'just' on the edge of your strike target :D.

Your players are warned though and should do a runner when they hear the call. If there's more of your players than theirs though I wouldn't shell them.

Just drop a vehicle on the sniper :p

Exactly what I do... And if I'm in armour, I hunt out other armour :)

Getting a high score means good teamwork and combat skills generaly. sometimes one of them is enough depnding on the situation.

Anyone intending to do this should read the server rules, cause some will ban for it.

It doesnt work regardless. It does add to the fun if used correctly. Otherwise vehicles just get wasted when they can be used for good things.

I dont know about bans exactly but it is an exploit and its due for change in the next patch. Its pretty low either way imo, obviously it should never have been made so accurate

Hi i got probs with my router with BF2 when it loading the page with all the servers on it stops at like 800 then gos a bit more then stops find about 200 then gos and stops and it takes ages for the list to full loaded.

With my normal modem loads them right up fast with out stopping. the router i got is the Linksys WRT54GS and i thought linksys was good for gaming.

anyone know y this is happening

Whats the easiest way to get 5 repair points? I tried repairing team vehicles but I got run over or killed too much. Do you get repair points as an engineer when you're in a vehicle and repairing vehicles around you?

I have the same router, it doesn't do it with mine. You might be best putting this post into the network forum along with your hardware's version number and firmware version :)
