Sprint , jump , prone , crouch... repeat , firing when you land.

If someone gets me like that I respawn and go visit them with a DAO-12, no messing around

It would be cool if BF2 incorporated the GRAW movement physics; its clumsy but a little more realistic in my opinion and allows for more varied combat.

Assuming you can actually play a game

. Just been playing for a few hours , find a server , just get going then "there is a problem with your connection" , server crash. Find another server , get playing and server crash.

must have been on about 5 different servers and all but one crashed. Love the 1.3 patch :rolleyes:

, can't wait to see what 1.4 brings.

yeh i dont like this either only had it happen to me once, but i have recently found new solution its called a CHOPPER (just learnt to fly) so im gettin my own back by flying in circle and shooting all the infantry who cant do nothing that is nice after it has been done to you so many times. starting on planes now

BF2 Questions

Right, just started to play BF2 online. 2 questions:

1. How do i go about increasing my rank

2. Why is it that i can shoot somone with loads of bullets and they don't die but when they shoot me it only takes a couple of shots and i am dead! I do aim for thier head!!

1) Keep playing on Ranked servers. You get points every game you play (for example a kill is worth 2 points) and you just accumulate those over time. iirc the first rank up is at 800 points (ive just broken 50,000, then again, i play way to much for my own good)

2) Dont just let rip at someone, u either want single shot, or leave it in auto and just tap the trigger so u curl off 1/2 rounds at a time (unless of course you are only a few feet away from someone). Dont shoot standing up, always crouch or lay down as your accuracy increases dramatically. Aim for the chest (unless you know u can get a head shot)

Its always hard a first, once you get used to it and your situational awareness tunes into the game your accuracy will increase dramatically.

it would usually say it in the name of the server

If you type ea uk in the filter name it will just show these and all of them are ranked, also you goto remember as you progress you get weapon upgrades which are better than the standard ones, so get playing for your rank upgrades.

Oh if you want to check how you are doing look at this website http://www.bf2stats.nl/ , then type your name in player stats and submit you can keep an eye on what you are doing and what you need to unlock weapons, get badges, medals and your rank increase.

I would advise buying special forces add on, or let a friend use your account on his copy as when you do a round in it 2x1 map you get loads of extra weapons available to you when you get unlock. i have been getting 2 gun unlocks after somone advised me to let a m8 use my account, before i was only getting 1, enjoy the gaming.

I would reccommend crouching as opposed to laying down, if you lay the only thing the enemy can see is your head so they have more chace of a headshot.

Weapons with a burst fire more are really effective, I find the Medic's G36E (the second Medic unlock) to be awesome at medium to long range (up close it lacks full auto, but thats not too bad if you go for a head shot).

Yup i think the medic is the most balanced one out tbh, good gun with the said unlock above and of course being able to heal yourself and others and revive.

Finally unlocked this weapon when I got my First Sergeant the other day, G36E is very good - makes playing medic much better

On the Multiplay Screen at the bottom you have a load of tick boxes, make sure the 'Ranked' one is ticked.

I have been getting into this a lot the past few weeks, I am not that great but wow this is such a cool game, actually finished 4th on the leaderboard last night which was a first, I have learnt that short burst's are more effective then caining the crap out of the trigger.

I have been awarded two awards (Medic and anti aircraft guns) so far and gained my first rank a few days ago.

Any other noobs looking to play and fancy using teamspeak to learn the game together give me a shout on my MSN: [email protected] I normally play on the EA Multiplay servers.

Another question are the expansion packs worth investing in?

The only expansion worth getting is armoured fury. Check out the ocuk clan we havent played many games and are so far friendlies but its great fun working together.

Some of the main guns can be switched between rapid & single shot mode by pressing 3.

I would say get yourself onto one of the many =50k= servers and team up - best way to learn ... and you'd be learning from some of the best players around

I'd say SF isn't too bad but if you don't fancy it then get someone to play 5 mins with your account and that way you get the extra unlocks - L96A1 for the win ! :cool:

*edit - oh and of course the G36E medic unlock

What a complete pile of tosh this game is! As you can see by my previous post, i managed to make it work when playing online. But now im having the same problem AGAIN whereby my whole system freezes after 10 seconds of being in an online battle. :mad:

I cant think of anything else i can do to stop this from happening. I am absolutely certain it is not my hardware that is causing this, and ive tried many different drivers and even reinstalled Windows XP.

So ive pretty much narrowed it down to an internet related problem. I know someone made a post earlier in the thread showing all the ports this game needs to be open, but how exactly would i go about doing that?

This is my last attempt before giving up on this game, which is a shame as i really enjoy playing it
