A battlefield2 thread

Max Carnage anything goes Popular SF maps. <= I spend mostly all of my SF time there.

It runs Ghost Town, Warlord, Surge and Mas Destrusction.

No rules (You can probs tell by the server name :p ) so you can base rape, spawn camp etc etc.

Very fun server to play on.

If you use XFire add me to that then we'll get together for a game (Siders77)
 
Hi all, just got Bf2 today after playing the demo for the past year and wondered if you could answer some questions...

1. I purchased the deluxe addition and heard that if you play one round in special forces, you get double unlocks, is this true?

2. If so, which unlock would you say is a better step up, the sniper rifle or assault? Those are the main 2 classes I'll be playing.

3. Anybody know of any good sites which explain how the unlock/rank systems work?

1: Yep that's true. Play a round or so on SF then when you get to the rank which allows you to pick an unlock you get 2 unlocks instead.

2: I'd say the sniper (L96A1, not M95) is a good choice. The G3 is okay but the clip size lets it down a lot.

3: Yep, www.bf2s.com is very good. :)

you know google isnt that hard to use but anyway. http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php theres a link for ranks unlocks etc etc

I would say the sniper ** is the best sniper rifle in the game so the sniper unlock would be a good choice.

when you play SF you will get the amount of unlocks that you have already acheived, so if you have unlocked 2 guns in normal bf2 then you will get 2 after you yes play 1 round, but tbh to make sure play a couple..

play the game with the vanilla weapons for a few weeks as you dont know what class you will use.
**many of the standard guns are more effective than the unlocks you get**

medic/support are popular and good to get your pts up by spamming health/ammo packs around like bird seed ..

everyone will tell you that 'this' gun is the best in the game, which might be true IF you know how to use it,
so just have fun, learn the game and maps then pick 1 or 2 unlocks when you know what u want.
 
I got my first ever shock paddle kill today and it was by accident. Iwas playing on the road to Jalabad map.

One of the guys got killed in a watch towers at the outpost in the bottom part. So I quickly ran across with the paddles already charged...

As soon as I entered there is a support dude with his back to me firing away at the troops advancing to *** fountain.

Now usually I switch to knife or the gun but for some reason the two brain cells I have decided otherwise.

BZZZZ and he drops down I let the paddles charge and revive the fallen comrade. So I got 4 points in total for that. But I was so excited that I got my first ever shock paddle kill. The funny thing is I am terrible as a medic. I always miss when trying to revive people so they die anyway. How I managed it I never know and doubt that I will ever see that happen for me again.

But the other night was really fun. By accident I spawned as a sniper. But I was first at the tank. I wanted to be an engineer. So anyway of I trundle and to my amazement I am doing well. Now usually I have two modes of play bad and extremely bad.

So anyway I am killing left right and centre. Every now and again I would be killed by like spec ops or another tank. And I always saw at the time every time I died I saw a message like DIE SCUM!!! but thought nothing of it.

Anyway When I was killed like for the fith time and the round was nealry ending due to the tickets about reach zero I saw a message U R DEAD MEAT!!!

At which point I had enough. So I typed Yes I am dead but the team is about to win so what do I care?

Obviously this person didn't take it to well and typed back EAT LEAD and for the rest of the night I did well. I kept finishing like top for our team or second. but never had enough points to get a gold medal ( the commander got that).

must have been a full moon or something for me to do well. Or the BF2 gods decided to let me have my round of glory as even they got bored laughing at me trying to play BF2 :)

I might be one day be good enough to reach noob status.

Also just a quickie question what is the "Noob tube"? Is it the grenade launcher the assault class use or the Rocket launcher the anti tank guys use???? I often see it from time to time appear via messages but I have no idea what it means.
 
its the grenade launcher yes, i would say a 'noob tuber' is someone that just either walks around looking at the floor, or one that jumps around so u cant hit him then he noob tubes you.. I have seen some well good 'noob tubers' out there tho..

Hi, i am having the lag and the panning problem. sometimes i try to run through door way and end up looking in another direction, or i am on a roof walking towards the edge to then lay down and end falling off ! ! ! ! !
What is going on.

I have 2GB of RAM, so that is not the problem.
What is the renaming of the folder in my Doc's all about ! ?
How does that help any thing ! ?

have you:

Cleared the cache in my docs/bf2/mods/cache (something like that)

what detail are you playing at?

updated gfx drivers?

turned off all programs in background?

turn off antivirus?

is your harddrive active while this panning problem is happening?

go to www.secretsofbattlefield.com and look at there tweaks guide.

There are other tweak sites out there, type bf2 tweaks in google and start readin :D

if all else fails reinstall might fix it.

I can almost tube kill the distance from one flag to the next :D Its excellent when you out snipe a sniper with it

lol yeah like i said iv been hit on east side road from the hill before, so not all noob tubers are noobs :)

from one flag is the well good but depends what flag it is :) square to market doesnt exactly take a pro to do.. imo
 
This game is starting to realy annoy me, i am still geting ctds after trying a few diffrent memory settings.
Now i have started geting gfx problems. 6.9 ati drivers, and the card is not overheating. Anyone know how to fix this?

Im going to try a reinstall and see if that fixes anything.

BF2 would be an amazing game if it just worked without all the bugs.

I always found the 6.4's the best Ati/BF2 drivers, those after that hit my performance.
Since moved to the other side but if i was you i would try the 6.4's they were Rock solid for me.
 
I just had a quick go again, i used to play a lot but got peed off with all the bunny hopping and dolphin diving...

First server i get to what do i see everyone bunny hopping :rolleyes:
