A board to power the FX-9590!

Well judging by this release, it might not be that realistic because to me it looks like they have given up. This is a guarentee that Steamroller is going to be hopeless as well. They wouldn't release a CPU for £150 - £180 which is better than their £700 flagship a few months, or even a year afterwards would they?

Hopefully it'll be more like when Intel released the 990X just to show everyone 'This is the best you can get from X58' at the same time as the 2600k was released, which was better in most ways than the 990X at a quarter of the price. Obviously there are differences in their situations (most notably the 990X was actually the fastest chip for heavily multi-threaded tasks whereas the same cannot be said for the 9590) but I do hope that steamroller is like the 2600K of 2011 :)

At least the Titan had the performance to match.

In this case of this CPU...

More like "your shipment of fail has arrived"

HAHA!! That's the funniest one yet.

It does seem to be a bit of a status with this chip to brag with "I've got a 5ghz chip". I actually quite like AMD as the cost is low and it will perform well if you dont have high expectations.

This however will be my final AMD rig. Intel will continue to dominate the CPU market and AMD should stick to their g/cards. Intel will be my next.

But surely for anyone that knows anything a 4.8Ghz Intel chip is better than a 5Ghz AMD chip? I can get my 2600k to 4.8Ghz fairly safely with a H100. Still ends up miles cheaper than the AMD chip.

AMD will probably drop out of the PC market soon with all the money they must be getting from the new consoles.

Same ****, different chip. All you guys do is spout the same old stories every time AMD release a new chip its getting boring, why are you even suprised its not up to scratch compared to an intel? If its as bad as half of you make out why waste time ****ging it off, if people want to buy it they will no matter what you say.
I bet over half the ocuk database is full of threads banging on about this topic.

the 9590, well it's not like anyone's being forced to buy it is there? it is what it is: a chip for overclockers. it's not a chip your regular joe would buy, especially considering your regular joe would either go intel/just get the cheaper 8320/8350 and clock it up.

MMM you do understand what Overclockers do right, take a cheap cpu/gpu and make it as fast as the more expensive offerings (well thats what it used to be about!!)

The funny thing is it is the SAME chip, different label, voltage and clock speed. AMD has basically "pulled a GTX770", but unlike the the transition of the GTX680 to GTX770 with the price lowered, faster memory modules has been added plus higher clock, the 83xx chips to the current FX-9 range chips with price shot through the roof...with the asking price at 4-5 times of the 83xx chip, purely only because of the higher clock alone.

Even with Intel not in the picture, AMD still made themselves looked bad...

Won't happen theres some rules in place stating there must be 2 companies in the market.. Intel licenses AMD anyhow if they wanted them out it would have happened a long time ago

Ah ok, I thought there would be trading rules in place to prevent market domination and excessive prices, I do hope Steamroller is decent though to give Intel some proper competition :)
