A Brief History of WoW (and why it sucks)

The fact theres goldfarmers shows that people are willing to spend even more than the sub fee, and have multiple subs, surely this shows it appeal to some people.

Personally its somewhat sad in my opinion.

Erm, I think you'll find that it's factually incorrect and hence does not class as humour!

ROFL!!

The fact it's ****, means it "does not class as humour"...

Rescuers came across a little Chinese girl deep in the rubble but the concrete beams above were far to unstable to bring in the heavy lifting gear. The army officers talked amongst themselves and decided that unfortunately time was of the essence and their efforts would have to be directed to those that they could actually get to. They sent one of the soldiers back to comfort the girl.

"Hello little girl, what's your name?"

"Wing Li."

"And how old are you Wing Li?"

"Well , next week I'll be 6"

"No, you won't."

The fact the OP contains the word 'e-peen' definately means you cant use any geek comments in this thread.

It's always been 9 quid, you probably looked at 15 euros. Looks like you've never played the game either, seeing as you don't know how much it costs. Your opinion is null and invalid.

And how do you know its always been 9 quid everywhere? do you market the game? :p

I found it funny but I'm sure thats because I dont play the game. Its something that I could never give that much time to and I'm sure that it would take me like 6 years with the amount of time I would play to level up enough to have a character worth playing. Plus the game in my eyes does seem lame but before I get jumped on by wow fans fighting its corner; if you like the game thats fine I just find I dont spend to much time in front of pc playing games these days. The only other thing is the way they suddenly change the game and add new characters and items etc seems odd. As this to me just seems a way of keeping players but forcing them to level up again so that they have the best stuff/characters. But what do I know I dont play the game :D

All I'm say is bring on Red alert 3 with its cheesy story line and super hot women...... thats the game i'm looking forward too.

I found it funny. :)

But then I would rather lick the sweat off my feet than play a MMORPG.

Everyone to their own!!

Out of curiosity, why?

Fantasy game, absolutely massive world to explore. Loads of quests and minature games. A community. 5 man, 10 man and 25 man dungeons to play with friends. Persistent characters with development etc etc.

I can understand why people may dislike the graphics, or not like RPG games so simply aren't interested in WoW. The problem I have is that some people seem to have read somewhere that every person who plays WoW plays 40+ hours a week and sacrifices his real life for a virtual one and so have decided it's lame. :/

I thought it was quite funny - But I have never played WoW.

That said new PC turns up this week and I was thinking about getting a game I could regularly play...

But it will probably be EVE.

Let's be very generous and say 5%, that's 600,000 gold farmers of the lot, you still have 11,400,000 actual players. 5% is a pretty conservative estimate too, I'm willing to bet it's nowhere near that high.

Why do the wow adverts state that '10 million people have experienced' Not '10 million people play'. Ive never seen anything official from Blizzard that state 10 million (or more) peole actually play the game. Biggest internet blag ever IMO.
Its a great game but way, way too hyped to make people feel they are part of something bigger than what it is.

That pretty much sums it up. I have played it, and enjoyed it, I quit because it was beginning to take up too much of my time (late night raids, grinding for items/gold etc).

Didn't really find the OP amusing either. Ah well.

I seriously considered Eve until I learned that the people who run it don't mind screwing players on a whim, just for lulz.

Not much point in signing up for a MMO if you're constantly at risk of sabotage by the developers and their in-game buddies.

It’s lame because that’s the way I feel about the game lol. I don’t really have to explain why I think its lame the same way you will dislike some of the things I like because its not your taste & you dont need to explain anything to me. Kind of weird reason to ask why I find the game lame. Just because 12 million people like the game doesn’t mean I have too. Like I said before if you like that type of game then fair enough but I dont like MMO's because I cant give enough time to the game for it to be a benefit to me or get to the level that would be enjoyable playing at.

Plus it would be likely I would play at most like twice a month or something; so paying for a game monthly when I would barely play for more then an hour isn’t for me.

And still being wrong about it
He was wrong about the level cap lol OMG I bet all the future information he put down he completely correct on as well :D. Whether he was right or the wrong I think he was more trying to get the point across about why he thinks the game sucks not the exact detail.

Hardcore wow fans will hate this thread but I dont blame them because its something they like and who likes to hear bad things said about things you enjoy. Its just someones view take it easy :D:D

Condenscending much?

Maybe it's just not that funny... contrary to popular belief, wow fans like to joke about the game too, in fact I would say it's the fans themselves that come up with 99% of the jokes about it, the other 1% being old old old jokes that apply to the entire 'poopsocks lol mmorpgs' genre.
