I am trying to convince my friends that pc is the way to go and that console is outdated as we all know so my challenge is for the best pc build including os as the Xbox one will come with its own so this must match the performance for a lower price or exceed it for a higher price it must be small because my friends don't have room for a 900d or anything crazy and so the best build will get built 7 to 10 times and they person with the best build will get to name them all happy searching ;)

How much higher? Its hard working to a low price when windows costs £80 on here.

What do you think of this? I don't really know how it would compare to the consoles though

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus GeForce GTX 650 DirectCU 1024MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £95.99
1 x AMD Bulldozer FX-4 Quad Core 4130 Black Edition 3.80GHz (Socket AM3+) Processor - Retail £74.99
1 x Microsoft Windows 8 64-Bit DVD - OEM (WN7-00403) £72
1 x Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (BLS2CP4G3D1609DS1S00CEU) £43.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA 6Gb/s 16MB Cache - OEM (ST500DM002) HDD £39.95
1 x Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 AMD 760G (Socket AM3+) DDR3 Motherboard £38.99
1 x Cooler Master Elite Power 500W Power Supply £34.99
1 x Xigmatek Asgard II Midi Tower Case - Black/Orange £29.99
Total : £452.30 (includes shipping : £17.85).

Here's my take on it, sure Stulid or Idleman will jump in here.

Picked up a more pricey case appose to the bare budget cases. Swap this out if the build looking good isn't too important. But to compare to a Xbox/ps3 you at least want to look at it and tell there is some nice hardware in there. Even more so if you're putting it in the living room running steam big picture. Also a MATX build so smaller.

Cooler to get a decent overclock going.

You could probably scrape an I5/7850 build if you leave out the cooler and go for a cheaper case such as the Xigmatek Asgard Pro.

Sorry, I dont use Chrome so no fancy add on ocuk basket :p

Excuse me but that if I remember correctly that motherboard doesn't support that CPU ....

http://uk.asus.com/Motherboards/AMD_AM3Plus/M5A78LM_LX/#CPUS

Make sure you read the supported CPU list before you post on an AMD build ;)

Hmm.. let me double check that Ethermaster.

* I assumed in the supported list saying,

"FX-8300(FD8300WMW8KHK,3.2GHz,8C,95W,rev.C0,AM3+) ALL 1401"

meant any of the FX-8300 series cpu's.

However this board has been spec'd before. Can anyone confirm it is incompatible?

Very nice, included the cpu cooler aswell :) Strange that some of the AM3+ boards don't support the fx-8320. I'll remove the build to save confusion until I can be 100% sure.

On the other hand which relatively cheep board for the fx-8320 would you generally spec out for budget builds?

**B-Grade** items are either Ex-Display or returns that are sold in fully working condition, OcUK backs this up with a 90 day warranty and what ever is left with the manufacture, just bare in mind that they maybe missing some parts like SATA cables/IO Shield etc .........

Two different chips,

• FX8300 - http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series FX-8300.html
• FX8320 - http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Bulldozer/AMD-FX-Series FX-8320.html

Its most likely due to the different TDP between them (95W vs 125W) which is why the board cant power it.
