16 hours with gas on in there flat, they would be dead, how could you not smell, every room would fill up with gas

That's what I thought. Gas is odourless until they add the smell to it, unless they're getting their gas pumped in directly from Russia.

Natural Gas isn't odourless, I think you are getting it mixed up with carbon monoxide.

Irrespective of it's source, all natural gas used in the UK has an odour agent added to it before it is supplied to domestic and commercial users. Gas suppliers carry out checks using Rhinology labs to make sure the odour agent ( usually T-butyl Mercaptan blends or similar ) is present in the correct quantity. Too little and it defeats the purpose, too much and it becomes a nuisance and irritant in daily use.

It is almost odourless, enough that the average human could not detect it unless an odorant is added.

So they must add something then because as soon as I let the gas run on my hob for 3 seconds or more I can smell it.

Either that or I have a super nose.

Natural gas is odorless. They inject odor into it after they process it

Lol, They add the smell artificially before it's pumped into supply. It's a safety procedure, some school blew up in the 1930's I think because of the build up of gas no-one could detect and since then they have added odorants (smells).

We haven't forgotten, just that we didn't see there were any connection between a gas leak and your penile discolouration, but it does appear to be in the forefront of your mind.. Do you think that perhaps the gas leak may have caused a toxic reaction?
