I miss out on the LG 29" deals as well and was gutted.
But when I seen the deal on the AOC Q2963PM I went and bit the bullet.......
I have came from a 27" ASUS VG278HE 144HZ monitor. I was a bit worried at first as I have had trouble using other monitors that aren't 120hz or above as I have now become sensitive to the motion blur.
Well, not with the AOC. I absolutely love this monitor, had it running side by side with my ASUS while it was running at 144hz and the difference in motion blur between the two is minimal and not enough to cause me concern. Also the AOC overclocks, mine will do 80hz but there is some frame skipping (only noticeable with a test) but it does 75hz with no frame skipping, but I'm running it at 60hz as I'm happy with it.
I was naive and thought the colours looked good on my ASUS....... LOL ........ Once side by side the difference is night and day, colours on the AOC are beautiful.
Also the 21:9 ratio is something I think everyone should see/try, when I took it out the box I was a bit like "Mmmm, not sure if I like this". But after a couple hours of use, I love it. As for certain reviews saying this monitor has high input lag, well I haven't noticed any. But I'm not a pro gamer with super senses
I do have some ISP glow (not backlight bleed) in one of the corners of the screen, but I have seen worst.
So would I recommend the AOC Q2963PM? Yes, without a doubt. I am quite a fussy person, but I'm very happy with this screen. Great monitor at a great price.
