** A Day at OcUK - Stelly's New System - EPIC CUSTOM BUILD **

Nice one guys, looks great! Lucky Stelly!!! :)

Whats the small board like jobbie with the 4 rows of white capaisitors on it?

That is the battery backup for the Intel Enterprise RAID card so it can save the contents of its memory to disk if something should happen.

I did have the thought that you did its going to be worth nothing in a few years time, but that thinking could have put me off for life, so I though screw it I'm going for it... and thus did :D

Might be worth less, but worth nothing? No chance :p

I'll gladly take it off your hands in 3 years time if you like.

Everything seems good but I disagree with the 2TB drives/intel RAID card.

Home server with xeon 1230 with ZFS raid would have been infinitely better/more useful IMO.

I can't believe in that. There is no way, I would leave it untoched for that long.

I know, I didnt think that my sister would come up, but hey footy and drink was good, followed by Thai foods :D

Hold on, why did you install Server 2008 for it?

HyperV server is needed for multiple instances that I need including Linux and what not... can still game on it :D

Ahh okay makes sense :)

Just wondered that was all ^^ so I guess it's not just a good excuse to play games, it's practical too? :p

How much are these worth ? No photo of Stelly with OCUK team ?

Very nice built! Lovely big case with water cooling.

Stelly was shy. plus I was in my scruffy clothes for doing the build. Stelly is practically a male model and is extremely handsome and good looking but we get complaints about my beard whenever pictures of me go live on the forums :p

£5,000 my godness me! I will never spend more than £1,000 for a pc unless if I win the lottery can try OCUK PC built up to £12,000! :)

except that time when you spent £800+ on an Intel CPU :o

Very nice. :D

as if you would expect anything less from me :D

What a fantastic article. It's a lovely build.

Have you considered cable braiding to add that extra little bit of wow factor, or is there a concious reason not to?

I would like to thank Stelly from the bottom of my heart. As he bought me 2 pints of Peroni at lunchtime :)

For some reason he thought Lager for W/C fluid was not the best of ideas?
