This is one of THOSE weekends.
Having sorted out the problem with my son's Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 fault yesterday, my own computer with the same Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 type m/b now has a fault.
It usually runs 24/7, but this morning it had a blank (black) screen and would not accept input from keyboard or mouse, so I hard reset.
It booted into the BIOS and I checked and F10 saved/rebooted.
This time it hung with a Post error code of C1- Detect memory.
Having learned from yesterday, I removed all memory sticks except one in the DDR3-1 slot, cleared the CMOS and powered on again. I tried all 6 sticks in succession, but in each case it still hangs at C1.

Again I ask for helpful suggestions please.

Thanks for your help again. you are a star.

No, it almost instantly flicks to C1 and hangs, so it doesn't take the next step of expanding the BIOS into Dram.

OK, but that will take a little while to do, since I'm using it to get to this forum. Before I shut down to do that, do you have any suggestions if that gives the same result?

Not really.

You have done everything tried yesterday? the fact you have another pc to swap bits from puts you at a big advantage.

Same C1 error with memory from my son's computer!

Yes, I tried removing all cards and disconnecting the hard drives, but still the C1 error.

It seems that the board is not seeing the Dram. Since the Dram is OK, I suspect that either there are no volts on the Dram or the memory controller(?) is not working.

Maybe I should check the Power Supply outputs?

If the board is dead, then perhaps it is time to get a new overclocked gaming bundle.
