Over and over again i'm hearing that the PS3 is overpriced
The PS3 is equivalent to the following

Official XBox 360 Play & Charge Kit
@ £12.99 Delivered 1

Official XBox 360 Wireless Adaptor
@ £54.99 Delivered 1

XBox 360 Premium Console
@ £279.99 Delivered 1

XBox Live 12 Month Gold Membership Card
@ £34.99 Delivered 1

Total:
£382.96

I haven't included the HD-DVD drive either, which would increase the price another £150 to ~ £530

Roughly the same price as a Sony Playstation 3 PS3 Console With 60GB HDD + FREE HDMI cable + Click (Blu-Ray) @ £399.

Cost of ownership is roughly the same.

plus you havent really been fair , im sure someone will mention bluetooth headsets etc soon
 
You can get a premium console now for £300 with 4 games and an extra controller.

There isn't even 4 games worth having out on the PS3 yet.

but i bet a lot of people end up buying gold memberships, wireless kits and recharge packs.
 
Who really really needed wireless 360 controllers (& play and charge therefore)? Exactly, so money saved there, or at least in my case.

If someone buys the 360 for £150 now and the Hard Disk drive for cheap at an online store then the 360 is a much better deal.

good point, it would be nice to see how many of the people saying "I want to have the choice of buying the extras" actually did buy them.

I know that the RRP of my 360 setup is greater than that of my PS3, but then my S3 is an import and only cost me about £330 delivered :p

But was there when the 360 came out? I remember buying COD2, FIFA 2006 and Kameo, apart from Kameo there we all mediocre too.

Its the usual scenario with consoles, the release games are usually crap, I think Resistance, F1 and Motorstorm will be dated within 6 months but they are definately worthin having if you own a PS3.

overpriced is a synonym for expensive

BBC news click said the PS3 was overpriced

GamerTV said it was overpriced

People at work told me its overpriced

The public have an impression its overpriced, probably because they cant add up the cost of the separate items.
 
Why the hell is the wireless adapter in the OP, my 360 sits next to my router and is wired! its nice to be given the choice of paying for what you actually need.

And over and over again people tally up a load of 360 extras to try and justify it.

Its only a games console at the end of the day, theres no need to defend it.

Just chill out and enjoy your gaming.

give it a while and the prices will come down ( a few are already) i think we are spoilt for choice now in regards to the formats and games we can choose..we should look at the positives more than the negatives.
my two pennies worth..
