The Harrier had developed a technical fault & all it managed to do was take off & land straight away.

Are you sure you went on Sunday, Thats the exact thing it did on Saturday.

The only let down of the show as far as I was concerned because the Harrier does an incredible display..

Do Mildenhall still do an airshow?
Are the yanks still there/the airbase in operation?

As that used to be a spanking airshow too.

Still in operation along with Lakenheath

Hasn't been an Air Fete for years though. Shame it was fabulous.

Anyway there is a Lightning to the sky restoration project in progress at the moment. So who knows, we may see that unique shape back in the skies in the future.

Which is lookign more hopeful with the Vulcan going so well at the moment.

Also hopefully the Vulcan will be back flying next year.
Which may just be worth actually attending Waddington Airshow next year to watch.

It's scheduled to fly Q3/Q4 this year - however that will be test flights and crew training flights. The real flying will be next year.

Anyway - off to see some planes this weekend *non airworthy though *

Flixton Museum *which you can miss when driving past it of you don't notice the Javelin*
and then off to a little place where they are restoring a FW-190 and a ME262 to flight.

Will be the only airworthy ME-262 in the world - and they are putting the original engines back in as well.

And if I have time - Norwich Air Museum.
