A-Level Results.

After sleeping on my A2 music result so to speak, I am considering getting it remarked. I just completely disagree with two of the module marks and know for a fact that one should be higher, much higher. What are the chances of Edexcel actually making a mistake? Has anyone actually managed to gain around 21 marks to get them up a grade, especially considering i'm 201 marks away from maximum so there's lots i've lost out on? I know a C is still a C and it's a good mark but it's always going to be in my head why I didn't get a better grade considering the amount of work I put in and the fact that Music was my strongest subject and I got very high A's in my other subjects. I just hate Edexcel!

Edexcel couldn't mark my physics paper last year. I was 2 marks off an A, got it remarked and went up 2 in one module, down 2 in another, and up 9 in the last one. I ended up not getting into Imperial and going to Bath instead, however I'm glad I ended up in Bath actually. Had Bath not accpeted me (it was my unofficial 3rd choice so I rang them up) I probably would have had to wait a year and pay the more expensive tutition fees.

Just got mine in the post :D

Media Studies - B!
Film Studies - B! Which came as a suprise, as I got a C for AS.
Gen Studies - C.
Classics (AS - have to take 4 subjects) - C.

I'm quite pleased with those :D

Hmmm... looks like i'm the only one here who did film or media?

I wish all of you who did maths would put which board you did it with.

C here with OCR and I was expected an A. I swear those bar-stards mark down public school students.

I did maths with OCR and got a C which I pretty much expected however, I'm sure I had gotten enough marks in my D1 re-sit to get an A and enough to get a higher A in my D2 exam but alas I ended up with a mid B for D1 and a lowish A for D2. Probably more down to me over-estimating though :p

AS Results;

ICT - C (AQA)
Business & Economics - D (Edexcel)
Maths - U (OCR)

Quite chuffed at mine. Was expecting lower for Business & Economics so pretty pleased I got a D :)

AS results here.

Maths - A,A,B - A (254/300)
F.Maths - D,A,A - B (235/300)
Physics - B,B,B - B (220/300)
Computing - B,D,D - C (183/300)
General Studies - U,D,D - E (142/300)

God job I planned to quit computing. My Further maths grade can definitely hit A if I retake the FP1 module which I totally screwed up, by the looks of things. I only need an extra five marks to get an A overall.

That being said, I don't know if there is a downside to retaking exams. Teachers are all for it, but if universities will know about it and thus take the new mark with a pinch of salt, I am not sure I want to do it...

I got BBC in psychology, maths and physics respectively.

I was hoping for BBB so I'm a bit disappointed, but I still got into my first choice uni.

Yeah, that's extremely well done :)

Congrats to everyone else in the thread too, I hope any that aren't happy are able to find another way to do what they wanted.

I'm still celebrating my AS results! :D

Barts too :D, but also Newcastle, Cardiff and Edinburgh. Are you going for deferred entry if starting in 2007? I'm thinking about doing that.

I posted my AS results in the AS thread, I got 4As (Bio/chem/phys/english) so I'm well on the way now :D. Been getting some good work experience this week also.
