Okay I hope this is okay, anyways I work part time at Tesco whilst I study at University. Well I've done some overtime. My base rate per month is £450. Well this last month I did some extra overtime on Sundays where you get 1.5 times the normal pay. So my wages for this month is £1,296.36. My tax code is 647L. I have been charged £256 for tax.
£157.21 for N.IEES
and finally
£182.93 for N.I.ERS
My pay slip for this month shows overtime as £555.94
Sunday overtime £169
Bank Holiday overtime £86
My final wages is £626
So I've pretty much lost half of my money, is this right? I never used to pay N.I.ERS only N.IEES so why this time do I have to pay both. Usually I pay about £20 for NI.
