What are the reasons behind whatever changes are allowed, and what exactly is allowed so we can just decide what we want, rather than constantly suggest things?

A good example is the glamour section on TP. I'm so jealous of some peoples ability to master lighting. It really intrigues me, and often I'll forget to look at the person in the image and spend ages trying to figure out how it was lit :D

TBH, if you really want a forum that looks like TP then, you know, why not just visit TP?

OCUK is not a dedicated photography website. This sub-forum was mainly created to help people buy and learn about camera related hardware, software and techniques, along with some nice photos to add some interest and examples of what people are up to. OCUK is far from an ideal medium to gain feedback or generate sales/business.

Don't get me wrong, I like the photos to look at here and like the new threads that have been created but I really don't see the point in trying to make this forum section something which it is not. There are lots of websites and methods out there to get feedback, critique, learn tips and techniques. The stuff posted here is for some fun and admiration, lots of holidays snaps, test shots learning new techniques or equipment and some great shots of commercial shoots.
 
I'd really like the new threads to get stickied. I hate having too many stickies in a subforum, but it makes sense as they'll be the most used threads and the throughput of new threads isn't that high on here that threads will be buried quickly.

Would probably be more approved by mods to try a system similar to that in SA with links in a thread:

At the risk of repeating myself I'll ask again why this thread is a sticky when OCUK don't currently sell any cameras?

Could easily be replaced with the sticky that links to all the sharing threads.
