A piece of modern art that does not suck ass!

I like this,

Win :p

You only have to convince one person that something is Art, for it to be Art. I only see art as things that are impressive, that have taken a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get the desired effect. You could relate it to that Gorrila, a kit car or a website, not a crack in the floor or a messy bed. ;) :p

Same way I see it. Doesn't matter if I like it or not. As long as it's taken effort and skill it's art..

Putting two bus stops in a room doesn't count :D

Why are there hundreds of foxes running into a glass wall?

And why haven't the animal rights nutters tried torching it or coating it in red paint.

To the people who think it's not all that... i'd really like to see them do something in there whole life that is 1% as good. It's a very impressive piece of art, and a load of skill and time would be required.

Try looking at it with the quote I posted in mind :|

"Insanity in individuals is something rare; but in groups, parties, nations, and epochs it is the rule." — Nietzsche

Also,

ahhhh Nietzsche he was a genius even if he wanted to sleep with his sister and ended up going crazy .......... and had every V.D. under the sun:p

Impressive in terms of the time and effort to took create but not exactly a stroke of creative genious or the most evokative peice of art i've seen.

What pieces of art do you consider to be strokes of genius or evocative?

Da vinci's sketchbooks are pretty much genious. Banksy is more evocative and throught provoking than this.... Why are you calling me up on this anyway, do you actually think this is anything other than a gorilla made of hangers? Would one made out of sugar cubes impress you equally? Once again I guess this boils down to what you want out of art; as for this peice, it does nothing at all for me. It provokes no reaction whatsoever apart from, "that probably took a while to do". Not all art has to take a thousand man hours to produce for it to be a valid peice of art.

Also,

Interesting so this artists great work was made in a Chinese factory then assembled by some removal men ?

Saying I'm "calling you up" sounds too aggressive, you merely stated you thought other things you had seen were better so I was wondering what these mysterious things were...

I didn't think the Coat Hanger Gorilla had any great meaning, just looks quite cool. I do love the installation I posted though, 'tis awesome, just fits the quote so well.

It sounded pretty agressive to me, but nvm:p It does look quite cool, but I just don't like the mentality people have that if someone hasn't slaved their guts out over it it's worthless. A simple banksy stencil interests me more than this.

Art is all subject to personal opinion, personally I just don't think much of it, that doesn't mean the artist didn't put a lot of effort in just that it's not to my personal taste. Why should I have to make something in order to give my opinion on it?
