A question about life

The point of life? To make the most out of each and every day.
This reminds me of a qoute: In 20 years, when you look back, you'll regret the things you haven't done, more than the things you have.

i was thinking about this the other day ... because of my age etc. and my recent 'medical' news

what is life?

i have come down to this:-

Life is a collection of experiences and memories that shape who you are. I am 37 now, and i remember when i hit about 33 i suddenly had a sense of my own mortality ..

i can remember being a wee boy, and time seemed to drag by, and as i got older it hurried along, and its getting faster all the time, and it suddenly hit me 'This thing has a start, a middle, and an end' and hopefully, i am in the middle just now. and its wierd to look ahead and see the amount of time infront of you can be measured, as its already passed you, although things and events do happen that can change this

i think the place in your life to answer this question is on your death-bed.
was i all that i thought i could be?
did i lead a good life?
how will i be remembered?

i better stop there

To be fair the point of life is to procreate.

Life's about having fun though, enjoying your time and experiencing things and if you're lucky enough, loving someone and having them love you back.

There is no point to life.

All you do is earn money to pay ever increasing taxes, have circles run round you by manipulative women, get beaten down by rude, unfriendly, evil, egotistical people and get ostracised by society the older you get.

Edit: Oh and to get constantly ****** off by those automatic tills in Tesco's. Apparently.

Well, there cant be a hell that is any worse than this !

Life, we are just caretakers, doing a bad job of it at the moment.

Not really, you're growing and developing, no? How can your body be dying if it's doing that? I guess you'd mean to say: As soon as you're born your life is running out.

I'd say you begin to start dying after you've reached maturity and your peak mental and physical condition.

As for life not having a point, well, life is what you make of it. The chance that you may never get to do any of this again makes all the more reason to make the most of it and experience as much as possible.

It's not the destination, its the journey. Enjoy it :)

The only problem is that there are often roadworks, leaves on lines or strikes at the airports.... :p

No one really knows what it is all about, just try to enjoy it as much as you can.

Well, you could technically say your living up until the moment you die, then your cells stop reproducing themselves and are then dead(well, partially, I dunno, I sucked in Biology :P). Better way of looking at it

I think that procreation is part of it, but not all of it I am sure.

My wife and I for one don't want kids. Cannot see the point tbh.

I suppose the meaning of life is to discover the meaning of life for yourself. Whether that's the pursuit of happiness, knowledge, enlightenment; procreation; (edit: religion) or just getting off your face on drink and drugs, it's different for everyone.

I think everyone asks themselves "why they bother" sometimes, until one day they have one of those profound moments of clarity and utter contentment, when they're at peace with themselves and with the world... usually while drunk :p.

Lucky you.. 99.999% of women I meet seem to want kids and I frankly can't be bothered :(

She is a nurse, and she, like other nurses did a stint in matenity and it put her off for life :P

The way I see it, the point of life is to get to the end of it look back and realise that you've not wasted it.

Like Raymond said, its about the journey, enjoy every day as it comes. Too many people live their life like every day that came before it, and for me thats a waste.
