I need a tent for Vfest. Does anyone have recommendations on ones that dont cost too much, easy to setup and wont break (so long as i dont dive bomb on it which will probably happen!)

Around the £30 mark would be ideal

Asda.... pop to your local asda, 25 quid for a 2 man tent, comes with 2 sleepign bags, i bought 4 for my self and mates, awsmoe little buy for a festival tent :)

i know that halfords do some sort of package with a tent, sleeping bags, air bed and other stuff, cant remeber the price though you would have to check.

Ive got a sleeping bag at home, but an air bed sounds nice! Im in leeds centre at the moment, dont think there is a halfords in the centre?

This.

The tent is good for a few trips before the zips snag and stop working.

Ideal for festivals etc.

you don't need an air bed

one of my mates went without a sleeping bag even, his arms were blue in the morning mind :o

all he took was one set of clothes, money and a beard trimmer

I can beat this (well, not me personally) We met a guy at global gathering who was in his 40s who had gone on thursday and it was sunday. He took a small backpack with his 'goods' in, money and nothing else. He had been awake for 4 days, 3 nights and only eaten once.
He was telling us how he liked to stay awake so he could have conversations with his hallucinations! He seemed pretty tapped to say the least

Thanks, ill try asda and halfords first

You do, that or a really thick groundsheet/mat. I didn't use either and it was like sleeping on rocks, I got two hours sleep and I was feeling very achey the day after.

A lot of the Decathlon shops do the 2 second tent. They tend to be pretty decently made, have a mate in Greece who spends 3/4 weeks a year visiting the various camping sites on the Greek islands who just got me to pick up another one for him (for a friend).

The main marketting thing for these is they take no setting up, u just pull it out of the bag and throw the thing in the air, it's various rods etc get it in the right shape then u just pin it down and jobs a good 'un. The bags about the size of a big pushbike wheel tho so depends if you have any space issues.

Wouldn't bother with an air bed to be honest, just get a cheap £8 2 man tent from Tesco Home! I've got a £14 badboy from GoOutdoors for V this year. You going Stafford or Chelmsford?

I would suggest popping into millets if you have one nearby - they have a sale on at the moment, and they also have a tent exchange program where they will give you 20% if you give them any tent in any condition. Ended up getting a 5 man tent from them yesterday for £72 :)

I bought and used a 2 man pop up '2 second' tent from Decathlon this weekend. It's an awesome bit of kit.

Definately get one more man than you require (e.g. only me stayed in the tent but I got a 2 man).

Recommended for £30 :)

Going to stafford, should be around 20 of us. However ive just realised its bank holiday the week after so should be in work for monday. My boss also has that week off. Im yet to find out what is happening but there is a train from stafford to leeds at 6.30am on monday morning. Dare say ill be feeling to great about life then (or i will but then have a shocker on monday at work)

edit - i might get this badboy from tesco - Thomas the Tank Engine Wendy Tent

thanks all - had a look for a tesco one but none below £15. Gone with one that looks half decent and an airbed. When i was travelling i slept a few nights in a tent and my back was snapped in the morning due to lieing on rocks/sticks and having no matt

Now is the season of our discount tents! ;)

Rather than an air bed I'd get one of those self inflating foam mats (e.g. Thermarest or a cheaper clone), I find air beds tend to be very cold.

One more question. Is it possible to blow up an airbed without using the supplied car pump thing? Dont think you park where you camp at Vfest
