I think it depends on how long the period was between you advising them that you no longer needed the replacement and you actually receiving it... e.g was it possible the replacement was already on route to the courier when you made the call.
By all means keep it now you have it, you win if they don't follow it up. But I would'nt sell it unless you have the cash to spare if they were to notice it missing at some point in the future and wanted it back.
Just from a legal standing I'd atleast make the effort to advise them you'd received a replacement PS3 after cancelling it.
