I don't really understand the people getting upset that some won't be buying because of the price. Everybody is free to do what they want, if some people feel the system isn't good value that’s just their opinion, it's their money, they are free to spend it as they want.

the fact that they were going to buy it when they thought it was £150, and now that it's £179 they're not is ridiculous imo. that's the only niggle i've got with it. just doesn't make sense as it's still a darn sight cheaper than the 360 is, and the PS3's slated to be

hang on a minute, im not taking anything personally lol, it's actually people like you dirtydog how are taking this a little far. You say some of us dont have the moneytrees.....when was the last time i bought a console dirtydog? umm...ummm.. yes thats right. last console i bought was my much loved xbox1. between that and my ps1 previously and i never bought anything else because of the vfm, or the fact that they just didnt interest me. christ i havent even had a graphics card in my pc for the last 8 months because i dont have money to throw at at. (onboard sucks)

Its all very well kicking off in a thread when you dont agree with something, but dont assume that by saying "sod them, im getting one anyway" that i'm taking it personally. It actually means quite the opposite, it means i dont actually care for your opinion at all. you're concidering a 360, aren't you dirtydog. i dont have to remind you of the price of the console, being more expensive than a wii.

Not at all. I might consider something too expensive at £4.99, but a bargain at £500. It all depends what it is, and what I consider its worth to be.

You don't seem to understand the principle... it is simple enough Let me try again.

If you are in the supermarket doing your shopping, and see a tin of beans for £1 you wouldn't buy it because you would (I presume) consider it too expensive. A tin of beans is not worth that much. It might be cheaper than other types of food, but for what it is, the price is excessive. It is not because you cannot afford £1. It is because, for what it is, the price is too high.

For what the Wii is, I consider its price to be too high. It is not because I cannot afford it I can afford a lot of things which I deny myself because I have a sense of what I consider good value for money, and if something goes above a certain threshold I do not buy it.

the key to this whole stupid argument is that you consider it to be less worth it (yeah, it makes sense ), which is totally fine, but you seem to have to try and instigate petty arguments by labouring your point in every single Wii thread. yes, we know you don't want one and yes, we're happy for your ability to be such a discerning member of the console-buying public, but it's getting old now. these threads are generally aimed at people who want a Wii...not those who don't. it's that boredom thing again isnt it?

I thought this thread was aimed at anyone who had an opinion on the Wii - hence one of the answers to the question being no, I don't want one. Anyway I'm glad you understood the point I was making about the price of something versus its worth.

yeah, but if you weren't interested in getting one, surely you'd come in, make your vote...maybe a small trolling post about how the 360/PS3 is better and make an exit. you don't have to start these arguments in every thread you go in.

I am not defending anyone, but from the way I am reading, DD is just saying he feels like he doesnt want to pay that amount of money for it... even if you disagree with him, there is no need to start putting the ingredients for arguments.

For the record, I dont mind how much I pay for a Wii (under 200) but I have not read up enough on the games yet to know if I want one on launch.

Dark_angel i didn't thats why i just said sod it because i really dont care. but somebody has to take it out of context and and talk all sorts of rubbish over it, taking it to another level. if he would have said he doesnt like the price and left it at that, there wouldnt even be a problem. But its extremely hypocritical to say you dont have the money for a wii, when we all know full well he's all for putting the £££ down for a 360. where's the sense in that?
