A2/AS January Exam Results.

Don't get mine till tommorow (in form, don't have it today).
I only did one exam for gen studies but it was such a wierd quiestion (not at all like the past papers). I think i've got a C or a D.

Not happy with my Physics result :/
Physics (Unit1): 76/B
Not something you should be too bothered about, you got a B which is ok, its only basic physics so you can take it again whenever, and the physics you have done/will do subsequently will allow you to get an A if you want one.

lol I got :

Physics U3 B
Computing U3 B
History U4 C
Psychology U4 C (3 off a b  )
Physics U4 Dunno, its so low it was probably off the scale :\.

I think the moral of the story is, putting exams after Christmas isn't that good an idea.

For my A2 january exams i got....

English - 90/90
Biology central - 81/90
Biology unifying - 88/120

So two A's and B, not bad.

Dont worry about the maths grade, I got a E at AS, but got an A at A-level.

KaHn

Alternatively do worry about it, if you got an E at AS and an A at A2 you must have either dramatically improved (or rather, started doing more work), or the AS must have been marked wrongly!

Is it true retakes are being frowned upon by universities? i heard this going around the sixth form and i was just curious if its true.

I'm getting my Mathematics and Physics this thursday.
Mathematics (Edexcel) - Core 1 Results
Physics (Edexcel) - Mechanics and Radioactivity

I can't comment on how i've dont but i'll post here thursday on how I did do and what result I get :)

Well I guess I stick by my word. My AS Level Module results are:

Mathematics Core 1 87% A
Physics: Mechanics and Radioactivity 58% D

With Physics okay I am little but like "I should have got 2% more" blah blah blah but hey! That's what retakes are for ;)

But all in all i'm happy with it :)

If you retake January AS modules in the summer (ie before your application) then the university will never know about it. If you retake modules in the january after your application then the university won't see your new results - so essentially retakes make no difference at all, they never find out about them.

Bumped my original AS grades (CDE) up to CCC (in History, the first, I almost went up a grade but not quite) so I should be set for getting the BBB that I need for Uni.

It's bittersweet - I'm happy because I can get into Lancaster, my first choice Uni, but I kinda regret not doing any revision last year or for my retakes since I could've got AAA had I worked. Ah well.

No. The Universities don't get ANY of your AS/A2 results until your final A2 marks are ready, so they don't know anyway (afaik).

Got mine today aswell

ICT: A
Physics: C
Critical Thinking (lol): C

Dissapointed with Physics as I thought I would do better, but overall pretty good, I think.

And regardless of that, they count towards your final A2 grade so it's always worth retaking them :)
