I am just about to hit buy on a Silverstone TJ09 case, in silver  £154 with side window......but there is a nagging feeling in the back of my mind and its telling me to save £70 and buy the Akasa Eclipse.............Which I am not that fond of, but has all the attributes of a classic air cooled masterpiece,....its just fugly !

Hmmm, finger retreats from mouse !

ok, loving the inside, the space, the dimensions, cooling performance....it will even take my prefered PSU (Enermax Galaxy 850W) but its the front end I just cant bring myself to terms with, that and its black :p I had even thought of the P182...but a few things have since put me off that one.

Agghhh its so annoying.....but £150 is a whole lot of cash for a case !!

You could always grab the eclipse and mod it?

Saw a guy put a board (thin mdf perhaps? not sure) over the front, and fill the joins. He extended all the ports and buttons and it looked kind awesome.

Get the new Lian Li A70A Silver or in black same price as the tj09.The lain li you all recommended isn't that great according to someones opinion which i trust on here stating it doesn't really exude that lian li quality and is cramped.

I would tend to agree about the A16B...plus its not the best looking is it.

The Lian Li A70A is an alternative..not sure how it compares to the Silverstone for the same money, performance wise.
The Tj09 has an additional 2 120mm Fans for extract in the top of the case, I would have thought this would make the Silverstone that little bit cooler for an Air based system ?

Also you are thinking of getting an enermax galaxy which will fit in the eclipse fine, but you will have to cut the eclipse as half of the psu's underside 130mm fan is blocked as its a longer psu the underside fan is sat further back.

He's a picture of my eclipse with the enermax galaxy fitted & the case cut.

Lian-Li PC-A16B all the way, I considered the TJ09 and even TJ10 but its cooling and looks dont come close to the lian lis, well the looks are pretty good but cooling wont compare.

Both £150 so not hard to decide, but regardless both very high quality cases that can last a lifetime.

I think you don't mean A16b thats the £93 one which aint all that.Do you mean Li A70???

I am pretty sure he means the A70 :p

Hmm, the Eclipse / Mirage are great cases, just a little "done to death" and I just don't like the looks, and I have sorto fo settled on a PSU...don't want to cut holes in a new case to be honest,.... but at half the price I can't just dismiss it on the odd dislike...can I ??

The Li A70...def not liking it in black, in silver...not sure it has the same apeal as the TJ09 and I think you will get more efficient cooling with tht TJ09...but all ends up perhaps its the prospect of spending £150 on a case which is weighing heavy on my mind ?

Update...Silverstone TJ09 arriving tomorrow along with around £1100 worth of bits to fill it..will post pics when sorted
