Mclaren also had the car to give RBR a challenge in some of the years but they kept messing up and is probably why Hamilton left.

He should have held up Rosberg in the stint prior to this.

I think his engineer was genuinely saying he was too slow. 45.3 is definitely not optimal to win the race. But enough to stay in touch with Vettel and slow Rosberg.
