Crap race. Missing DRS made it a little more interesting, and I noticed that it stopped the top 6 cars all getting straight back to the front after pit stops and allowed the mid-field to be closer together.

I really hope they give the TV director a slap, or hire a new one for next year. Every race he misses the mid-field action and follows the leaders doing nothing interesting miles apart from each other. This race yet again they missed the McLarens fighting with the Renaults, and Norris/Perez at the end. As such it was hard to follow Sainz fighting for 5th in the WCC.

Instead of that we get Hamilton cruising over the line and then coasting up to turn 2 on the cool down lap and missed everything. Why can't they show that later, or do picture in picture to cover both at the same time?

Ferrari 'get away' with it again.

Only a €50'000 fine

You know the TV directing is rubbish when even Crofty pips up to moan about the on track "action" being shown with cars 3 seconds apart when there were much closer battles further down the grid. The Sainz overtake for 10th wasn't shown because we were too busy watching Bottas in no-mans land.

With that and the 20 billion years it takes for stewards to make decisions after the race I'm considering just watching the highlights later after the race, then logging in to a news website to find out what the actual result is instead of waiting 3-4 hours after the flag dropped.

I didn't watch the race, I went for a lovely walk in the countryside instead. Sounds like it wasn't the worst decision.

I'm glad Lewis took the final race, this has been perhaps his greatest season. In a car that was, at times, second or third best on the grid he was simply imperious. Already the best in F1, he just keeps on getting better. Bottas should be pleased he didn't disgrace himself this season and took the second slot, he still cannot be gone from that seat soon enough for me.

Max Verstappen has matured into a spectacularly good racing driver. While his teammates trundled round, he showed that the Red Bull was a car to race with the best. I don't like him, like at all, but he's a talent to be watched. If he can keep improving his race craft and work on his temperament he will join the ranks of the greats.

I'm glad Leclerc soundly beat Vettel. He's been the better driver from the start of the season, and despite Ferrari favouring Seb, he's fought his way to the front in his team. Seb was again trounced by an up-and-coming teammate. I can't see him staying in F1 that much longer. I honestly expected him to retire at the end of this season.

Gasly beat Albon over the season, which I'm sure he'll be pleased with after being booted from the Red Bull. Whereas Kvyat never seemed to recover from being demoted (and demoted wildly unfairly; unlike Gasly), Gasly has stepped up and delivered some impressive drives in the Toro Rosso.

Still have time for him to do a Rosberg. ;)

Now he's got 3 kids I can see him seriously thinking about it in the next couple of weeks.

The only mitigating factor I can think of in Leclercs favour is that Ferrari put more fuel in the car than they stated to the FIA, not less.

Depends how much fuel they pulled out of the car. Guessing that they couldn't show that he'd used more than the maximum 110kg in the race. If they'd pulled out less than the 4.88kg extra put in, he'd have been deep in the cacky.

I rate that race a 2

The director missed all the action of the last laps.
I hate this race. Its so boring.

Ill watch the highlights next year but I'm needing races like Brazil to keep my interest. Supporting lower teams makes the whole experience much less exciting . More so with the directors missing all the action

I wouldn't be massively surprised if he announced this to be honest. You can't get those early years back and he hasn't really got anything to prove in F1. Well, if you just look at the fact he has his championships.

What do you think they should get? They surely don't gain a racing advantage from this so a fine makes sense to me.

Breach of a technical directive and a subsequent sporting regulation breach, known before the parade lap... I wouldn't have let the car start the race tbh.

Plus, €50k to a team that gets paid $100 million just to turn up... Might as well not bother.

At the start of the year I thought this would be his last, but now I think different. Kids aside I think he has a last gasp point to prove, especially after all the negative press. Going out now would be a definite low, so I think he'll stay for one more season then announce retirement, and then Dani Ric will get the seat in 2021 :)

Didn't watch the race, just came in to say thanks to @Shimmy for all of the threads this season.

Someone else mentioned it earlier — if we were still allowed to nominate MoH, you'd have my vote.
