People are free to voice their displeasure at a driver when they think he is acting like a ****. Threatening anyone or their family is obviously completely wrong and completely outside of booing someone.

I played poker with a chap who had been around F1 for a long time and he basically said that people massively underestimate how big a difference being the no1 driver for a team makes. The car is built completely around them. Even stupid things can all add up to make a big difference. Is Max a better driver than Perez? Almost certainly. Is Perez a bad driver because he didn't get 2nd? No.

RB didn't always have the best car this season. Ferrari are just their own worst enemy and once you took them out of the picture it was a procession for Max.

When it comes to whether last weeks results would have changed championship results is by the by. You can only do whats best in that moment and Max didn't pay even the smallest amount of respect to the guy that absolutely won him his first drivers championship. Without Perez this would be his first almost certainly. It was that close last season.

I think that Max will mellow as he gets older or if he ends up moving to a team that isn't competitive. It always easier to be likeable when you aren't in the spotlight and the pressure to perform is different. You don't have all the yes men around you making sure that you never think anything you do is wrong.

Not really. We discussed in another thread that you don't go to an F1 race to see the race better. It's easier to follow on TV. You go for the atmosphere. Where does the atmosphere come from? The crowd mainly. (If you were the ONLY person there, it wouldn't be that great)

Booing isn't any kind of good atmosphere. It's perfectly possible to have great atmosphere without childish disrespect.

Cheer for your favourite by all means, but come for the sport not the tribalism.

I don't see why you wouldn't? You want to disrespect him, that's kind of the point of booing. After what he did last week, I think it's expected and deserved.

Look at wrestling. The whole point of that is cheering the good guys and booing the villains. It's fun tbh.

Long and short for me - fairly mundane/boring season of races.... Some of the tracks need to change or disappear altogether.

Very little "drama" this year - any time someone wins 15 races it's going to be lacking in excitement.

RB/Max way ahead of the rest. Poor seasons from Merc and Ferrari just added to the mundane season.

Funnily enough, the fans are the reason why I'm not going back to Silverstone with the way they acted last year when Max and Lewis had their wee stoosh. The way they acted and some of the stuff that was coming out of their mouths was disgusting.

I wondered whether I’d miss F1 this season, and I did for the first few races, but I then forgot about it until it popped up in the news recently. Wouldn’t have had much time to watch it anyway tbh. Hope you’ve all enjoyed the season and that the rule changes brought something better.

Max proved he is the best. Awesome season by him...
Easy to be the best when you have the car advantage that he had. The Ferrari's were fast in qualifying until mid season and don't get me started on their reliability and strategies. Sadly Merc did not arrive to the party this season. Max is good but the way some people sing his praises and never fault him is just unhealthy. Just my two pennies worth.

If you can't tell the difference between a pantomime and a sport, I don't think we have anything to discuss.
Who said I can't tell the difference? I said the point is the same with either. You seem to struggle with English and logic. That or you can only make your point by insinuating I've said things I haven't? So yes, maybe we should move on.

**EDIT** Tbf, I will just move on before it gets silly and so I don't get wound up by when is decided I have meant by this post next.
