Abu Dhabi Prix 2015, Yas Marina - Race 19/19

A bland ending to another bland season unfortunately. Even the general media is giving it a wide berth, the Daily Mail for example have about 100 sports stories from football to MMA yet only one tiny story about todays F1 and it's the same for most online news outlets.

No-one cares about it anymore, it's seen as boring and sadly its a true statement for most people.

Have to agree as a long time (30 year) fan like some of the others in here. GP2 gave me more excitement than the so called pinnacle of motorsport :(

Crap season.
Driver of the year. Vettel.

Would have to agree.

I have been pro mercedes up to the end of the season where they showed their true colours.

F1 really needs a good season next year. Ferrari need to find some pace over the winter. They are going to struggle to close that aero gap though.

Is it me or is the aero now worse than it has been for a long time at creating turbulent air? Maybe the last few tracks have just made it seem that way to me?

Nope, it's been particularly bad this year. In past season the following gap was pretty darn small. But I don't know why it's slowly been getting worse.

Terrible season, but what it really did highlight is some of the tracks are just utterly terrible.
They need to give up on things like Monaco, it has absolutely no place for modern F1 racing.

Poor season, terrible race to end it.

Why on earth Mercedes didn't let Hamilton's side mix up strategy and either go to the end on the Prime's or change to Options I'll never know.

Boring 1-2 procession for the big wigs in attendance.

Oh yea, and drivers of the year have to be Button and Alonso, for not committing a public suicide attempt by driving the heap of useless into a wall on purpose.

Wouldn't hit the wall fast enough to even break the front wing.

Still surprised Honda were so unprepared after their last attempt at f1, you would have thought they would have learnt.

Narrow rear wings and no rear defusers meaning less airflow being re-attached to the car and increasing the "dirty air" effect?

Seems to affect the Mercedes cars more than others.

I blame the tyres... If they were good for 20 flat out laps or 21 managed laps, regardless of aero, we'd get better racing. But at the moment they're good for 5 flat out laps or 25 managed laps. Tl

Funnily enough, Monaco produced one of the more interesting races this season. Mostly for that shockingly bad call by Mercedes to pit Hamilton when the VSC and then regular safety car came out, I'll admit!

That's what highlighted the problem for me though, the only note worthy races this season where because of crashes, stupid decision making etc, it was not about the racing.
