Accenture Interview Help

Its going to be highly unlikely that I get a 2.1 (I need to get 73% this year to manage that.. which really isn't going to be possible for me)... but at the end of the day I can say I tried and its also good experience with interviews etc :)

You know they have near 10,000 people in the uk right? :)

Its cool... to be honest I never really thought I would get this job. Don't get me wrong, I would be over the moon if I did... but I just won't have the grades for it :o

Take it easy dude. One of the challenges you will face working at a place like Accenture is arrogant sods trying to put you and your ideas down. Its up to you to rise above it and convince them that you are right. Their graduate recruitment might want certain grades but I guarantee you that they aren't really interested in your academic achievements, they are only interested in people who will make them money.

Good luck with your interview, and good luck if you get the job - you'll need it.

From what I've seen all the large IT consultancies aren't viewed very highly. Not as good as what you would expect and all out to protect their own contracts to the complete detriment to their client.

My current part time contract is working among purely independant contractors and it is by far the best place I have worked.

Mate don't count on being rejected if you do get a 2:2 and you are offered a place. A friend of mine works for Fujitsu Siemens and was given a place before he graduated and needed a 2:1. He ended up getting a 2:2 but Fujitsu simply sent him on a course and said 'if you pass this we'll keep you' and he did :) Not that I'm saying it will be the same at Accenture, but you never know ;) I too am looking for a graduate scheme and am thinking of applying to Accenture though I'm not too sure...might give it a shot.

Best of luck though mate

Its not all about the 1st. I know two guys who were on my grad scheme at a competitor who up'ed sticks and left for Accenture after a year who didn't have 1sts, though having a years experience at a competitor was kind of helpful.

I think any sort of experience at Accenture will go a long way.

I will be working within ATS. They require a 2.ii. I didn't go for it because of that, I went for ATS because it was more suited to what I wanted to do. Plus we get overtime. :D

Consultancy is a very hard workforce to get into. If you don't get that 2.i I think they reject your contract.

Its me, Carl, why didnt you apply to ATS, looks ace... and only a 2:2

I'd apply if I was any good at programming, with ** credentials you'd almost definatly get in!

Ahh yes... you :p

Where have you been hiding? Not seen you on MSN for a while...

Just don't mention the NHS npfit contract - :D

I'm still on NHS Direct at the moment and it sucks, but working for another MS Partner doing their infrastructure. My new job (when I get it) will have nothing to do with the NHS!

Good luck for it mate.

For what its worth LogicaCMG and EDS both require 2:2s. I got through to the final round with both (also had ATS interested in me but ended up rejecting them for where I work now).

Checked out doctorjob etc?

Nah, not checked that site out yet - too busy with coursework and dissertations! I guess I will apply to the companies you mentioned and ATS once all the coursework is out of the way...

Hopefully I can find someone who did a petrol station for Simulations last year (or the year before), because that would take a lot of the pressure off this Easter!
