Acceptable wait time for a Chinese takeaway

So there you go, your wait is worthwhile. You got to talk to a “reasonably” attractive woman.

Oh yes, she was quite passable. Also don't forget about the joke about the beans and the other man I inspired to speak out about the wait time. We were like a Band of Brothers, taking on the tyranny of long Chinese takeaway waiting times.

It sounds like there were at least a couple of other people in there waiting, so they must have been reasonably busy, so 30 mins is hardly excessive

40 minutes? As previously posted my expected waiting time is 10-15 minutes. After 20 mins I'm getting fidgety and the one time the 30 minute mark was reached I began questioning the staff.
To be honest their standard wait time is usually 25mins, I was saying 40mins to prove a point. I actually walk past the place on my way home but I think only once have I ordered there and then. Then I think I went home to get changed, dump my stuff and come back. I understand what you're saying about the difference between a real takeaway and a restaurant doing collection/delivery. I guess I'd happily avoid a takeaway at all times when I have excellent restaurants on my doorstep.

You're lucky in that respect, I'm now in Bradley Stoke in North Bristol and there are very few places unless you go into town. Even the takeaway to resident ratio is way down compared to south Bristol
