Hi,

I'm expecting be building my new games machine tomorrow, and it would be useful if I could transfer files from the secondary hard drive of my current machine running windows 7 to the new machine running windows 10. I am probably going to use an internal SATA connection.

Ive tried googling this, but I'm not coming up with much when it comes to the drive not being the boot disk. Is this doable without much issues?

Okay.
Set up and install the new machine, with just one drive connected.
After it is done, connect your old hard drive as well, through the sata connection and power connection.

Then it will appear beside you C drive, as generally a D: drive under window explorer.

Copy whatever files across then.
Programs will not run natively, you'll have to reinstall for the most part, but you can map steam across.
