of course they will settle....

It's way more expensive to go to court with all associated costs, they are hoping you back down beforehand. Don't, they will offer to settle and everyone carries on from there.

As above -surely your insurance has provided you with legal help?
Yeah as above, I do have legal help.

Christ it's depressing how long it takes
also isn't it about time that all large vehicles should not have to have 360 degree camera coverage and audible warnings . there is no need for any vehicle to have a blind spot any more.
the driver does not even need to keep an eye on them (though they should) but if an alarm goes off as soon as the lorry driver signals to pull out if a vehicle is within hitting distance. my car does it so it's not rocket science.

I reckon some would still manage to ignore it, I've had a couple of people nearly drive into the side of me even though I can see clear as day their blind spot warning flashing away.

maybe so but from an insurance point of view it makes it a lot simpler to sort out who is at fault. in the long run it would save everyone - even the insurance companies - money.

i guess the ambulance chasing chancer solicitors may lose out..... but i have the worlds smallest violin for them. when my wife was in an accident last year where an ambulance and 2 cars were written off as well as heavy damage to another vehicle we were hounded by legal phone calls asking are we sure we do not want to sue for injury or mental trauma.

They would not accept that no she was fine and just getting a fair value for her car was all she wanted. (infact no one was hurt which was a minor miracle)

Astonishing that this has taken nearly two years to resolve.

Honestly, our supposedly functional and advanced society is just a joke.

Yeah - I dunno what the system is but some of the contractor HGV drivers at work who have their own lorry tractor unit have some kind of mixed sat nav and obstacle avoidance system which will literally identify things by voice calling out obstacle type and position as well as a visual warning and some of them still manage to have incidents with stuff in their "blind spot".

You could probably stick 240v up their arse and they still wouldn't click. Saw another one yesterday with wing mirrors folded in, and one with a mirror missing entirely. How these people are alive is beyond me.
