After reading the drunken injury thread has anyone had any accidents that have resulted in some serious hospital time or stitches/breakages.?

Two of my worse have to be;

Miss judged a turntable on my local motocross track over jumped it and handle bars when into stomach puncturing it, and breaking three ribs.

secondly power kiteing, put up a kite far to big for the wind conditions, which threw me up about 12 - 15feet coming down, breaking ankle and all crucial ligaments.

Slipped down the stairs rushing to get a chicken kiev out the oven, fell down and forward on my foot and breaking two toes. Kiev was burnt as well, nuts.

Came very close to doing the same god knows how I didn't damage myself falling 10-12ft without warning.

Flipped my friends motorbike, did a superman from stand still, landed, wrecked the bikes mud gaurds and snapped my left wrist.

I ironed my hand when I was 10months old. That was a pretty dumb accident.

Nicely scarred up. Think I won the scar thread on here a few months ago with it though.

I seem to be seriously accident prone....

- At 2 I drove a pedal car down some stairs, crashed and bit through my lip, resulting in stitches.

- At 6 I ended up in hospital with a bit of lego stuck up my nose.

- At 7 I cut my shin down to the bone on some broken glass... I reopened the wound by tripping over a sand pit about an hour after having the stitches out!

- At 14 I slipped on some ice and cut my chin, requiring stitches.

- At 15 I was at a New Years Eve party and got knocked against the corner of a wall, cutting my the back of my head open, requring 10 stitches!

- At 15 I got punched in the face and had to go to hospital for a broken nose. Turned out not to be broken, but the ridge had thickened.

- At 23 I went over the handle bars while downhill biking and broke my wrist. Had surgery and now have a titanium plate in there.

- At 25 (Current) I broke my humerus about 8 weeks ago now while snowboarding and am currently still undergoing physio for it!

I pulled an iron onto my face when I was younger. Nice crispy eye. Lucky I dont have a scar really.

Electrocuted with phase 3 20,000 volt supply to an industrial dough mixer when I was 5 or 6. Thrown across the room and hit the opposite wall, knocking me unconscious. When I came to, in my fathers van en-route to hospital, I could not see as my eye lids had melted together (but could hear my mum screaming). Couple of weeks in the Sick Kids Hospital and I was right as rain.

Because I half blew up my old mans bakery, insurers came in. Three electricians said I should be dead, what helped was my rubber soled shoes and the fact the knife I was using had a wooden handle…. I can still remember the thought going through my head.. if only I could pull back the black insulation so I could have a look at all the pretty colours of the wiring inside! Rofl, stupid child! I have been troubled with static electricity ever since!

Other than that, various broken arms and legs, nose, ankles, car accidents etc!

Its all good! :D

can't say i have no.

i'm with you :)

closest i came to having a stupid accident was when i was about 10, and was playing tag in a tree and fell out, about 10 feet, broke nothing :D just lay on the floor for about 5 minutes, slowly sat up, and walked off

oh, and when i was about 8 i got my sister and friend to tie rope to the rear wheels of a skateboard and told them to hold on to it while i went down a hill. i came off after about 30 meters and chipped a bit off a tooth, i think thats possibly the most stupid thing i've ever done, thats and putting my hand through a window...which resulted in no damage...not even a cut :/

not broken anything to my knowledge

i'd that a few weeks ago :D

i'm not sure but i seem to remember being told i possible crack my head open as baby failing down some steps and i once got a nice bump on my head misjudging a wall one night years back hedge hopping but apart from the general lumps and bumps you get i'd say that was it

Tried jumping between smallish cliffs down the beach once, fell 15' and landed on my left shoulder, been iffy ever since as I cracked my shoulder blade (which I didn't find out till several years later:p )

Removed some skin on my knee and back of both hands after flipping over a mountain bike a few times, minimal scars left even though I damaged every component on the bike lol

Had quite a few in the past but they'd be the most memorable.

My speciality is attempting to blind myself.

When I was a toddler I was chasing a ball around the living room and fell through a glass door resulting in cut face/stitches/scar etc.

At primary school there was a small round incinerator with a square metal grate on top of it. Me and a mate were playing, running around it driving toy cars on the wall of the incinerator when I ran into one of the corners of the grate. Cut my eyelid open, stitches, scar etc...

At high school we were on a scholl trip and some of the other kids were chucking stones around. Nice big bit of gravel would have got me right in the middle of my eye but I was saved from injury on this occasion by having sunglasses on.

How I've still got 2 working eyes is something of a miracle :p

Mangled the left knee more times than i can remember on the mountain bike.

Skin inbetween the thumb and index finger sliced all the way down when i had a numpty moment and grabbed at the knife that was being held at me.

Jumped off a 2ft wall... ball of ankle stayed on top of the curb foot met road... many... many swearies later i was found and then taken to hospital.

Seriously sprained ancle while rather intoxicated - golf ball shaped swelling and general purpleness color to the whole foot. bruise was funky tho :)

tis all i can think of in my heightened state of sleeplessness

Hrmm Cricket Training about 6 years ago we were practising catching, and we were on the diving forward and catching it mid dive, well i miss timed mine and landed in handsbendin them right back to breaking point, breaking 3 fingers of each hand, i had 2 lovely black mangled hands for about 3 weeks, and my fingers are still a bit wonky today, otherwise, broken toes, and more broken fingers, in less interesting accidents!

Heh, at about a year and a half i apparently while my mum was getting the laundry shoved the cat out of his cat basket got in myself the managed to roll myself in it down the stairs and broke my collar bone
Thats about it no broken bones accidents since :p

erm crashed in 2 a traffic light at 40mph on a moped, choked lot of blood no bones broken ( eva ) 2 ambulances at scene and they couldn't find out what was wrong with me, then was taken 2 hospital for them 2 find i can bounce from traffic lights, and i was lucky i am not dead!

Nothing here im afraid, only thing i can think of is when i was younger and i was on holiday in scotland with the rest of my family(probably 8 at the time). I tried copying something my older brother was doing with pieces of slate, it looked a bit like a minature se-saw would look. It had a piece of stone in the middle and a small piece of slate at one end all balanced on a piece of wood, obviously when you hit the piece of wood at one end the piece of slate went flying. Thing is when i did it the piece of slate went into my face instead of going flying into the air, i still have a small scar where my left eye brow is but it looks cool
