The flooring ain't been changed. I will just get some beading next week to finish that off
How can you watch tv with that horrible wallpaper behind it.
4: You've spent £700+ on a HTPC. The case alone is £250!! Mental. You could have got a Revo for <£200 or or or. So many options for much cheaper. You say you wanted to game though on the TV so.... fair enough. Still think this is a big over spend. You could have saved £500, sold your TV and bought a nicer, bigger TV.
Looking good Ace!
True but a quality HTPC just so hard to pass by. Ive just bought a Moneual 320 for £250. Can hold three 3.5" hard drives so will act not only as the HTPC but also as the home server, bit of encoding etc. Cant see myself replacing it for many years and it blends in perfectly with almost any AV setup.
Maybe he likes it. Not everybody likes the same thing, I am sure lots of people wont like your wallpaper either.
It's personal taste, and from what I've seen that's the fashion nowadays
If you read the posts you will see it was his wifes choice of paper, but still he stuck at it and got the job done where as i pay someone to come and do mine as i hate decorating.
So well done Ace.
Why isn't your htpc expanding the video to make use of the entire screen ??
Onto the HTPC now!

It should be ok, but worst case, I can under clock it a little and under volt it, but I think it should be fine. This is all part of my testing process I plan to do the weekend.
I have run prime95 the CPU doesnt go above 70 degrees which is fine. At the end of the day a HTPC won't tax the CPU that hard.
Right.
Can anyone help with audio from my video files? MY amp is not playuing the audio from movies using XMBC, but is playing audio from mp3s. When I start a movie file (mkv or avi) it says something along the lines of failed to initialise audio device. I have spent the past 2 hours trying to fix it? No idea what the problem is?
Linked to my amp via onboard HDMI for audio and video.
