Acer AL2016Ws

I have done some more testing, Farcry runs fine in widescreen on my 7800GT (1680x1050 res, 2xAA, 4xAF maxed details is very smooth). FEAR won't do widescreen resolutions but it does stretch to fill the screen. Possibly I need to update the game in order to use other resolutions.

CSS again runs fine and looks great, settings will depend on which map you play but I had maxed settings, 1680x1050, 4xAA,16xAF without a hitch, also I have noticed no ghosting and very little lightbleed - for the money this is an excellent monitor, although if you can afford it the philips would be a better choice.

Edit: Just had a go at lost coast...7800GT doesnt handle it too well at the settings I used :D (1680x1050, 4xAA, 8xAF, maxed with HDR on) but it was just playable. Looks great too.

FFS.

I have now got another monitor with a stuck pixel.
This replacement is only 16 days old and was fine until yesterday. Am I just unlucky or are the AL2016Ws just substandard (represented in the cheap price?)

Has anybody else had the same problem?

Nice monitor :)

What's the max height you can adjust this thing to? Ta.

Nice Monitor but extremely unreliable.

Monitor 1 had Stuck Pixel dead centre OUT OF THE BOX
(swapped by OCuK - with thanks)

Monitor 2 gets a Stuck Pixel after 14 DAYS (bottom right corner - but still visible and detracts from normal use!)
Acer say that "EU Law allows them to ignore up to 5 dead / stuck pixels before it can be classed as a warrenty repair."
Not Helpful

I am now stuck woth a £300 PIECE OF JUNK

DO NOT BUY THESE SCREENS. IF YOU CAN BUY A SCREEN WITH A 1 PIXEL WARRANT, DO IT.

I wish I could find someone that does that sort of warranty!

Repeat

DO NOT BUY
