Hi there

Scenes appear instantly, objects look sharper and more vibrant, and gameplay is more fluid and responsive providing gamers with significant performance advantages.

The Acer XB270HA features 170/160 degree viewing angles so that brilliantly-colored images can be seen from almost every angle. The Acer XB280HA monitor is made with post-consumer recycled plastic and features a distinctive red ring on the base stand. The multi-functional ErgoStand allows the screen to tilt from -5° to 35° to ensure the best viewing angle; the base rotates 120° from left or right for easy screen sharing; the panel height can be raised by up to 150 mm for optimum comfort; and the screen pivots from horizontal to vertical for more viewing perspectives.

This eco-friendly monitor features a mercury- and arsenic-free panel, LED backlighting for reduced power consumption, and is ENERGY STAR®(1) qualified.

Gibbo, does this come 3d vision certified? Would be a deal breaker for me tbh as I'd like a 27" 120/144hz gsync/3dvision monitor to run along side the 4k gsync I just ordered :D

Sold.

Will get one ordered at the end of the month :D

So much for the gsync premium, well played Acer.

Yes it's so cheap as it's got a full adjustable stand and usb3.0 hub too. Fact it's got G-Sync too is incredible!

You say 'affordable'. I do not think it means what you think it means.

It does mean what he thinks it means.

It was widely regarded that the G-Sync module would add significant cost to existing spec monitors. Which in some part was true with the initial DIY Asus unit and then the horrendously over-priced ROG Swift.

Acer (And AOC to some extent) have basically put out these monitors with the same spec and pricing as other monitors with the G-Sync feature essentially thrown in free.

Samsung 4K = £499
AOC 4K = £499
Asus 4K = £599
Acer 4K G-Sync - £499

No added cost.

Asus 27" 144hz 1080 3D = £349
Benq 27" 144hz 1080 3D = £359
Acer 27" 144hz 1080 3D G-Sync = £367.99

Very very minimal price difference.

Does it come with a pair of glasses for 3D or are they a separate buy? At £80 they are a fair bit but understandable if not bundled at that price.

does it come with a gaming pc & will it make me breakfast in the mornings :D. really good price I might just have to order one

Might sound a tad silly, If I use an Oculus Rift with 3D enabled, what happens..? I know Oculus is somewhat "3D" but hopefully you know what I mean.

it's a step in the right direction and should force everyone else to rethink any large premiums added onto these types of monitors

I am not really a fan of Acer but i have to take my hat off for this and the 4K G-Sync offerings. They easily could have undercut Asus by £50 and sold a bucket load but this really is a kick in the nads for Asus and hopefully a wake up call for them to get a grip of their pricing structure and not take the mick.

May just have not been thinking, I was saying enabling 3D on the monitor, then using the Rift, what would happen. But the 3D is only effective with the special glasses right?

Resolution: 1920x1080 144Hz

oh

can't wait till 1440p 144Hz is a reasonable price

To be honest, 1080p is plenty. You also need some serious grunt at 2560x to achieve 100fps+

I recently went from 2 x DELL 2560x U2713HM to 1 x DELL and a 1 x BENQ 27" 144Hz... and I am never playing an FPS game like BF/CSS on a monitor with <120fps refresh again. It's a different type of game.

I am not pre-ordering because I don't believe in it - nor do I like the way OCUK take your money two months+ before - but I will be buying one after release.

But credit to OCUK for getting a date and decent price for this

144Hz and GSYNC < £400 - epic

Well plenty say they won't go back to 1080p after experiencing 1440p ;) For me both 1440p and 144Hz is the best option :p I agree though it's still an epic deal for what will be a great monitor
